💩 OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND… UNTIL IT ISN’T. 😬

💩 THINGS YOUR SEPTIC TANK WISHES YOU KNEW… 😂

If your septic tank could talk, it would probably have a few things to get off its chest:

🚽 “Please stop flushing wipes.”
Yes, even the ones labeled flushable. Toilet paper is your septic system’s best friend.

🍳 “I’m not a garbage disposal.”
Grease, food scraps, coffee grounds and other kitchen waste don’t belong down the drain.

🧴 “Easy on the chemicals!”
Your septic system relies on bacteria to do its job, so what you send down the drain matters.

💧 “That dripping faucet affects me too.”
Excess water puts extra strain on your septic system.

📅 “And PLEASE remember I exist.”

🚩 HOMEOWNER RED FLAGS 🚩

We’ve all said at least one of these…

🚩 “I’ll fix that leak later.”
That tiny drip can turn into wasted water, damage, mold, and a much bigger repair
🚩 “But the package says the wipes are flushable!”
Your pipes (and septic system 😬) may disagree. Stick with the 3 P’s — p*e, p**p & toilet paper.

🚩 YouTube said it was easy.”

🍂 BEFORE FALL GETS HERE: HOMEOWNER CHECKLIST

We know… it’s still August. ☀️ But cooler weather will be here before we know it, and now is a great time to catch the little things around your home *before* they turn into bigger problems.

A few things worth checking:

🚰 Outdoor faucets— Check for drips, leaks or damage.

🔥 Water heater — Listen for unusual noises and watch for leaks, rust or inconsistent hot water.

🚿 Drains— Slow drains now usually won’t magically get better. If something is draining slower than normal, get ahead of it.

💧 Check for hidden leaks— Look under sinks, around toilets and near appliances for moisture or water stains.

💩 Think about your septic system — When was the last time it was pumped? If your answer is “Ummm…” 😬, it may be time to check.

🔧 Find your main water shutoff— Don't wait until water is going everywhere to figure out where it is. Make sure everyone in the house knows, too!
