Summer for Hotwire means getting out in the community!

You can find us at Turner Celebration (June 6), Santiam Canyon Stampede Kids Corral, Santiam SummerFest, Benton County Fair, and Aumsville CornFest.

We’re also excited to host our student-led robotics camp August 10–14.

Huge thank you to our sister team,

Over the past few weeks, they’ve gone above and beyond for us. Helping in our pit, troubleshooting a tough Pigeon issue, providing parts, and even coming to our shop to help in person.

We love being able to support them too! From helping at their event in Wilsonville to cheering them on along the way.

PNW District Event - Week 4 at CAIS

Our robot performed exactly how we hoped: consistent Auto, strong driving, and solid scoring all weekend.

A tough schedule left us with a 5–7 win/loss record, but we captained the 8th alliance with & .robotics, and put up a close fight against Alliance 1 (347–302) in Playoff Match 1.

Not the ending we wanted, but we’re proud of this robot and this team.

This is what the 2 weeks between competitions looks like for us.

Drive. Adjust. Practice. Repeat.

From driver practice to human player practice to dialing in the robot, we’ve been putting in the work these last 10 days to get ready for our next competition at Clackamas Academy (Oregon City) this weekend.

Wilsonville was a rollercoaster for us.

We struggled through some early qualification matches with a tricky sensor issue that had our robot behaving unpredictably. Once we finally tracked it down and fixed it on Day 2, everything started clicking.

We were picked for Alliance 7 by 2B Determined of West Linn, OR alongside Steel Ridge Robotics of Ridgefield, WA, fought our way through playoffs, and ended our run with a 1-point loss in our final match. So close!

To top it off, we were honored with the Innovation in Control Award!

Such a fun end to the weekend and we’re incredibly proud of this team. On to Clackamas in two weeks.

Do you know a teen who loves to create, solve problems, or be part of a team?

Hotwire Robotics is hosting an introductory meeting next Tuesday, November 11th at 6:30 PM for students interested in joining our high school robotics program.

We’re especially hoping to welcome more girls this year!

Robotics includes so much more than coding. It's design, leadership, teamwork, business, and creativity.

Our team includes students from Cascade High School, Stayton High School, Silverton High School, and even a few homeschooled students. Everyone is welcome to be part of the fun.
