𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲!
Earlier this week, Wing and Walmart demonstrated autonomous package delivery to the local community at the Walmart store on Route 73 in Mount Laurel NJ, part of the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Operating under FAA Part 135 certification, Wing represents an important step in integrating commercial drone delivery into everyday airspace and communities.

With the demonstration taking place just two miles from the Influential Drones office, it’s exciting to see this technology expanding into our own backyard.

We’re especially encouraged to see this given Amazon announced coming to South Jersey earlier this year. Wing looking to establish a presence is exciting cause it reinforces the use case to the local community.

Beyond the technology itself, these operations represent continued progress in airspace integration, operational safety, automation, and public acceptance of unmanned aviation.

The future of drone delivery isn’t somewhere on the horizon. It’s arriving in our communities. It’s here in New Jersey.

Dave Krause, President of Influential Drones and Test Manager of the Norton Test Range, is attending the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C., today, marking his fifth consecutive year at the event.

Many significant technological advancements emerge from healthcare and military applications, where innovation is driven by operational challenges, mission requirements, and reliability.

AUSA offers an opportunity to engage with manufacturers, explore emerging technologies, strengthen industry relationships, and stay informed on the forces shaping autonomous systems, robotics, and unmanned aviation.

Flying a drone is one thing. Maintaining the precision to operate confidently in confined and complex environments is another.

Precision flying requires control, spatial awareness, and an understanding of how the aircraft responds when margins get smaller. Those skills are developed through practice, and they can diminish when they are not regularly exercised.

Confined-space flight training creates an opportunity to slow things down, challenge aircraft control, and reinforce the fundamentals in a controlled environment.

This image is a powerful reminder that the National Airspace System is constantly changing. Today, a large Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) blankets much of northern New Jersey and the surrounding area, affecting where drones and manned aircraft can legally operate.

A mission that was perfectly legal yesterday may not be legal today.

Whether you’re flying for public safety, commercial work, research, or recreation, checking the airspace before every flight isn’t just a best practice—it’s a responsibility. TFRs can be established for VIP movement, disasters, major events, wildfire operations, space launches, and other situations where protecting the airspace is critical.

Professional pilots don’t guess…
