At Young’s United Fabrication, we regularly handle thick, heavy steel, including 1” plate and large industrial components. This particular part came in loaded with heavy mill scale. We started with the sandblasting process, but quickly realized it wasn’t the most efficient or cost-effective process for this amount of scale...

Instead, we decided our burn-off process would be the best solution for breaking the scale down, turning it to ash for a much cleaner and more effective prep process before coating...🔥
