For my friends in Florida. TAKE ACTION NOW! This hurricane is no joke. Already a category 5 and two days away. This system may not get stronger wind wise, but in the next two days, my fear it will grow in size. Watch your rivers and tides. If the tides are not going out as they normally do,a surge is building.

Locations south of Tampa should be very aware of this. You will be getting the worst of this take surge. Those north of the center will get easterly winds which should push the side out similar to a system a few years ago.

When this system nears the coast, it will be sucking moisture not only from the gulf, but also the Atlantic, similar to Helene. This one will not turn a hard left like Helene, but central Florida will feel it, and those on the coast to the north of the center may have wind and tidal concerns

PLEASE WATCH THIS SYSTEM CLOSELY, and do not hesitate to bug out if things don't look right.

The Rock:

Tropical Update: The data from all of my programs say not much in store for us in eastern USA this week.

There is a system showing on the horizon about Wednesday, but this looks as though it will turn north long before its come close to our coastline.

A week from Wednesday, there is another showing up. It will be far east of Cuba and heading in our direction. To far out for any real more info on the tracking right now. But will keep a watch out.

THERMOSTAT BATTERIES: Replace them now before you forget. Replace that furnace filter too. Give your boiler or furnace a 10 minute exercise to make sure all is well.

Rock Weather:

Up here at the rock, looks like a mix of sun and clouds all week. Temps from the mid 60's to low 70's.

Not bad for the first week of October.

Rock Weather: Maybe Ernesto

So the next possible tropical disturbance I told you about on August 9th is starting to come together. Late Tuesday Evening Ernesto should be starting to flex his muscles north of San Juan.
By Saturday, a much better developed system should be bearing down on Bermuda with close 70 MPH Winds.

Right now, it looks as though this system will stay to our east. Although we might see some rough surf during some days after.

So there you go for now.

Rock Weather: The Big/Little Deb:

Tropical Storm Deb is gathering moisture in the gulf to dump on Florida and some of our southern states.

She turn briefly into a Cat 1 storm before crossing over Florida, then back to tropical storm once she makes it back to the Atlantic.

At this point, computer models are varying out. Most models are sending the girl west. The UK model shows her coming north, and the National Hurricane center seems to agree.

The next few days will be plagued with high humidity and possible thunder showers. Mid week, if Debby takes the UK track, we will see deepening unsettled weather. Still maybe some sun, but more threats of showers.

The windy wed site shows her coming into play here on Saturday if she holds the UK track. But even if she heads our way, this system should pass us by very quickly.

Should have a much better picture Tuesday Morning.

MASS SAVE GAS REBATES ARE GONE!

I've been sounding this alarm for several years now. And the day has come. As of August 31st of this year, any rebates for Oil, propane, or natural gas will be coming to an end.

You can still apply for natural gas rebates on high efficiency gas boilers ($ 1,500.00) if you apply now, the unit installed before August 31st and billed out Pryor to Sept. 30th.

Please note: This rebate only applies to replacing older lower efficiency boilers. (Cast Iron). If you are replacing a "LOW END" high efficiency boiler, the rebate will be $200.

So there you go folks. If your going to jump on this band wagon, you best do it quick!
