An impressive 672 runners, walkers and strollers helped raise $281,000 for the MRC-MEF Run for Education. That means more school supplies and educational materials for Martinez Unified School District schools!

Since 2003, the Run has raised more than $2.2 million for the Education Foundation. We're looking forward to celebrating our 25th year in 2027!

Each Wednesday Contra Costa County's Community Warning System (CWS) runs a test at 11:00 am. This is a similar test as what the community may hear on the first Wednesday of every month. The Contra Costa County Sherriff's Office operates the Community Warning System and their website states, “Sirens are tested on the first Wednesday of every month at 11:00am. For the remaining Wednesdays, a more quiet and low “growl” test is performed at 11:00am.”

The refinery runs internal tests Mondays between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm to ensure our sirens are operational. During the tests on Monday, sirens will typically be heard by our fence line neighbors and potentially beyond. Testing our sirens ensures that we run the refinery to the highest safety standards possible to protect the community, employees, and contract partners.

We have a team of dedicated employees who respond to inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We invite our neighbors to call our Weekday Phone number at 925-313-3777 or our After-Hours Phone number at 925-313-3601.

Help us fill the holidays with a little more joy.

Starting today, MRC Alumni, Employees and Contract Partners are collecting new, unwrapped toys for SHELTER, Inc., La Casa Ujima Family Recovery Services, and the USMC Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

Our Toy Drive runs October 27 - November 10, giving our community partners time to plan for the holiday season.

Want to join us? Drop off a new, unwrapped toy at either:

• MRC Lobby – 3495 Pacheco Blvd. | 6 a.m.–6 p.m.
• MRC Alumni Museum – 1635 Pacheco Blvd. | Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9 a.m.–noon
(The museum is at the back of the MRC Clubhouse parking lot.)
