UPDATE 5:00PM: Please continue to limit water usage if possible. The contractor should be here first thing tomorrow morning to fix the break. We appreciate you patience & understanding.

ATTENTION CITY OF MARYSVILLE WATER USERS: The city is asking that you please limit your water usage for the time being. There is a break in our sewer force main that carries wastewater from the city to the lagoon system. Limiting your water usage while this is being repaired would be most helpful. We will keep you updated as we have more information.

With the onset of cold weather here this week it’s time for a friendly reminder of what to do to help prevent your pipes in your home from freezing. Especially with these subzero temps in tonight It really helps to keep the heat up in your home so if there are pipes in areas with less heat they have a chance to not freeze. Definitely open up cabinet doors under your lavatory faucets in your bathrooms. The doors under your kitchen sink. If there is access to the plumbing of your showers/tubs open those up. Any plumbing that’s on an exterior wall has a very good chance of freezing when it is this cold out. So letting those faucets just let a trickle of water will help prevent them from freezing. Stay safe everyone with these very cold days ahead.

Any of you with well houses here is your friendly reminder to check your heat sources in those areas.

How to Prevent Frozen Pipes
- Keep garage doors closed if there are water supply lines in the garage.

- Open kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors to allow warmer air to circulate around the plumbing. Be sure to move any harmful cleaners and household chemicals up out of the reach of children.

- When the weather is very cold outside, let the cold water drip from the faucet served by exposed pipes.
Running water through the pipe - even at a trickle - helps prevent pipes from freezing.

- Keep the thermostat set to the same temperature both during the day and at night. By temporarily suspending the use of lower nighttime temperatures, you may incur a higher heating bill, but you can prevent a much more costly repair job if pipes freeze and burst.

- If you will be going away during cold weather, leave the heat on in your home, set to a temperature no lower than 55° F.

Two updates!
#1 - My daughter Zariah has started to come down to the shop after school to fill waters! She will be there most days from 4 to at least 5 and I am usually there till about 5:30 unless out on a later job. These hours will extend once school is out. I’m also almost always at the shop from 7:30-9:30 AM. Please give me a call and I will do what I can to get waters filled and to you outside of these set up times. I am happy to accommodate as much as possible.
#2 - I can now accept Venmo for payment! I will have this posted on the wall at the shop, also.
