Today, on the solemn anniversary of September 11th, we pause in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 lives lost and the countless families forever changed by the tragic events of that day. We honor the courage of first responders, the resilience of survivors, and the unity that briefly lifted our nation above fear and division.
It is with profound sorrow that we also acknowledge the heartbreaking news of Charlie Kirk’s assisnation. A father, husband, and public figure, his death in a politically motivated act of violence is yet another grim reminder that hatred and division have deadly consequences.
We condemn this act of violence in the strongest possible terms.
Violence, no matter the target, no matter the motive, has no place in our society or our democracy.
Today, of all days, this message carries added weight: we remember the unity that followed 9/11, and we strive to reclaim that spirit of common humanity and mutual respect.
To Charlie Kirk’s family, friends, and community, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this unimaginably painful time.
