Job description:
Experienced Diesel Mechanic or assistant needed. Qualifications include being familiar with all aspects of heavy-duty truck repairs including transmissions, rear ends, engine tear down and rebuilds, brakes, and overall general repairs. Some welding experience preferred. Job requires some Saturday work through the busy season. Pay depending on experience.
1 week paid vacation after 120 days of employment and 4 paid holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Christmas Day.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on diesel equipment
- Repair or replace faulty parts, such as brakes, transmissions, and engines
- Perform tire services
- Weld and torching as needed for repairs
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or service technician
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of Cummings software for computer related issues on trucks
