It is with extremely heavy hearts that we inform you that our dear colleague and friend, Jimmy Nichols, has gone on to be with the Lord. Jimmy passed away on Saturday, March 18th. He has been a part of our crew and family for a long time and was loved by all. We will all miss him more than words can express. We send all of his friends and family prayers during this time.

At White Oak we are all family and we take care of our own.
We just completed a three day outreach project replacing Peanut's mother's kitchen and living room floor, base cabinets, tops and plumbing. Peanut requested some help the week prior to his passing.
I want to thank all involved in this outreach. Previous employee,(over 15 years ago) Marvin Burns volunteered as Forman for the project. New White Oak owners, Bob and Andrea Lambert provided plumbing and electrical work along with lunch for the volunteers. Previous employees who apprenticed under Peanut along with new employees who had never worked with Peanut arrived to rebuild the kitchen and living room.
Special thanks to leaders, Jimmy Nichols, Jake Fisher, Donnie Wallen, Joe Donald, Jonathan Sweet and Don Deakle.
I know Peanut is smiling from heaven. We all miss you Peanut.

I am very sad to announce Billy Joe Bales, or "Peanut", as he was known to most people, died yesterday from his battle with ALS , commonly known as Lou Gehrig Disease.
Peanut was a superintendent for over 3 decades at White Oak Construction & Restoration Company, LLC. where he built many of Blount Counties finest homes.
In the last eight years Peanut focused primarily on teaching men who were apprenticing at White Oak from the True Purpose Ministry program construction trades and skills.
Peanut's patience, kindness and compassion for trying to give these men a "hand up" in completing their new beginning was unmatched.
God bless you Peanut for all you did to help your family, friends, co-workers and students. May you rest in Peace.
