From the Peltier Family

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has donated, shared Connor’s story, and kept him in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness and support mean more to us than words can express.

This week, Connor begins radiation, with a long road of treatment still ahead. He’s been experiencing a great deal of pain and daily nausea, and we’re holding on to hope that radiation will bring him some much-needed relief.

We are incredibly grateful for the compassionate and dedicated team at Dana-Farber, as well as every single person who has stood beside us through this difficult journey. Your generosity, prayers, and encouragement give us strength and allow us to focus on what matters most: helping Connor through this fight.

Please continue to share his story and spread the word. Every share, every prayer, and every act of kindness makes a difference. We truly cannot thank you enough for being part of Connor’s journey.

Support Firefighter Connor Peltier and His Family in His Fight Against Cancer

Mashpee Professional Firefighters Local 2519 is asking our community to come together in support of one of our own, Firefighter/EMT Connor Peltier, as he continues his courageous battle against cancer.

For the past two years, Connor has faced an incredibly difficult journey, enduring aggressive cancer treatments, physical and emotional challenges, and significant financial hardships. As a devoted husband and father of three young children, Connor is fighting not only for his own health but also for the opportunity to continue making memories with the family he loves.

Connor was first diagnosed with Stage III melanoma just after one year into his career with the Mashpee Fire Department. Since his diagnosis, he has undergone extensive immunotherapy and clinical trial treatments at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Despite his strength and determination, the cancer has progressed to Stage IV metastatic melanoma, spreading to his lymph nodes, liver, lungs, and spine.

Throughout this difficult journey, Connor and his family have also faced financial uncertainty. Because Connor had not yet completed five years of service when he was diagnosed, he does not qualify for the protections provided under Massachusetts' firefighter cancer presumption law. This has created additional financial challenges for his family during a time when their focus should be on Connor's health, treatment, and spending precious time together.

The Town of Mashpee, Mashpee Fire Department, and Mashpee Permanent Firefighters Local 2519 continue to stand behind Connor and his family. However, there are still significant expenses and financial needs that are not covered by the assistance currently available.

We are now asking our friends, neighbors, fellow firefighters, and the greater community to stand with Connor and his family.

All donations will go directly to Connor and his family to help with medical-related expenses, travel to and from treatments, childcare, everyday household needs, and other financial burdens they face during this difficult time.

Connor has dedicated his career to helping others during their moments of greatest need. Now, it is our opportunity to return that same compassion and support to him and his family.

No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please share Connor's story to help spread the word.

From all of us at Mashpee Permanent Firefighters Local 2519, thank you for your generosity, kindness, and continued support. Together, we can help ease the burden on Connor and his family and remind them that they are not facing this battle alone.

One of our own needs us. Let's stand together for Connor.

Today, members of Mashpee Permanent Firefighters Local 2519 had the chance to volunteer at KC Coombs Field Day, and we had an incredible time!

We spent the day helping out, cheering on students, and enjoying all the excitement that makes Field Day one of the best days of the school year. We're still not sure who had more fun—the kids or us.

One of the highlights was seeing some of our members reconnect with teachers they had when they attended KC Coombs years ago. It's a reminder of how special it is to serve in the same community where many of us grew up.

A big thank you to the staff, volunteers, and students who made the day such a success. We were honored to be a small part of it and can't wait for next year!
