Henkel Construction is proud to partner with Iowa schools to deliver projects that prioritize safety while keeping daily operations running smoothly. Fairmeadows Elementary at West Des Moines Community Schools is a great example of that commitment in action.

This multi-phase project included classroom renovations, a FEMA-rated storm shelter, a gym addition, cafeteria upgrades, a new music room, along with site improvements that expanded parking and enhanced stormwater management to support long-term functionality.

Completed over two years while the school remained fully operational, this project reflects the strength of thoughtful planning and close collaboration with the district.

Our Ames team recently celebrated a big milestone of 2 years without a recordable incident and zero lost time!

To recognize the crew, we hosted an appreciation lunch today as a thank-you for showing up every day and keeping safety top of mind.

Today was a milestone moment at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School as we celebrated the official groundbreaking!

This next phase will bring 8 new classrooms along with a cafeteria, creating even more space for students to learn, grow, and thrive.

We’re grateful for the support behind this project and proud to be part of creating a space that brings together students, staff, families, and the community, which will be enjoyed for generations to come.

We are ready to get started and bring this vision to life alongside SVPA Architects Inc., The Waldinger Corporation, McClure, Raker Rhodes Engineering, and Clevenger Associates.

This past Friday, several of our team members participated in the Fairways for Futures Golf Classic, supporting Anchored Hope , Foundations Learning Center, and Martha's House of Hope.

Henkel Construction is excited to support the inaugural Prairie Rock Trails Bike Fest, happening next weekend, May 29–31, in Mason City, Iowa.

The Prairie Rock Trails Bike Park was completed in 2025 and is Iowa’s first-of-its-kind mountain bike park. The bike park connects riders to 20+ miles of trails across 600 acres of beautiful parkland, next to the Lime Creek Conservation Area.

Henkel built the shelter at the trailhead, which was inspired by local architectural styles and is surrounded by picnic areas, public art installations, and educational displays.
