For one northeast Ohio construction company, it took one. The lake sat below old strip mines, and its pH had to hit about 6 before dam removal.

It’s a good thing we stepped in to supply two 6-inch pumps, sodium hydroxide dosing, and a weir tank for solids.

One of our past clients struggled with petroleum transfer. Crews were digging footings at a petroleum transfer station that hit water, and every idle day was costing tens of thousands of dollars.

Instead of them hauling out the petroleum, we treated it right there instead.

We pumped it out of the trench, filtered the hydrocarbons out, then ran 1,800 feet of fused HDPE to the facility’s fire pond.

They called us on a Wednesday and we had the whole system running by Monday.🔧

Meet Devin Barker, Environmental Health & Safety Manager 🥳

Five months in, and Devin is already making an impact across E-Tank and E-Pump.

In his role, Devin does more than oversee workplace safety—he protects our people, our operations, and our environment. With over eight years of experience in EH&S, environmental compliance, injury prevention, and hazardous waste management, he brings a depth of knowledge that's already strengthening our safety practices.

"Knowing that my work can help keep people safe and make sure they go home the same way they came in—that's what drives me," Devin says. "I like being able to solve problems and make safety feel practical for the team."

What caught our attention most? His philosophy: Learn the operation first, then build safety around the real work people do.

"The people I work with have a sense of passion in their work that's contagious," Devin adds. "And our commitment to taking care of people—that value resonates deeply with me."

To support that growth, we created the Environmental Health & Safety Manager position and hired Devin to lead our EH&S efforts.
