McAllen Foreign Trade Zone McAllen Foreign Trade Zone allows businesses to manufacture, sort, repair and distribute their merchandise in a secure location.

McAllen Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) is an isolated, policed, and enclosed area, adjacent to the Mexican border, with access to other ports of entry. Foreign Trade Zones are considered outside customs territory of the United States. Merchandise from all over the world is admitted into the foreign trade zone; and may be assembled, manufactured, manipulated, sorted, repaired, cleaned, inspected, distributed, repacked, and destroyed.

Congratulations to Avant Technology!

We are happy to partner with Avant Technology at McAllen Foreign Trade Zone in the designation and activation of their Pharr, TX warehouse under the Foreign Trade Zone's Alternative Site Framework (ASF) program.






: Avant Technology has been awarded a Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund grant for their expansion in Pharr to produce more complex semiconductor assemblies tailored for enterprise, automotive and industrial markets. The McAllen Foreign Trade Zone joined USDA today for the historic groundbreaking of a sterile fly production facility at Moore Air Base. This 350,000-square-foot facility represents a $750 million investment first of its kind in South Texas, producing up to 100 million sterile flies each week to safeguard America’s livestock from the New World Screwworm.

The ceremony was led by Brooke Rollins with Senator John Cornyn, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

Thank you to Secretary Rollings for helping make this historic project a win for South Texas and the nation.
