Wanted to answer some questions I received in regard to the BioLab situation. Residential heating and air systems do not require outdoor intakes, so the system should be safe to operate. You should be able to run your AC system unless for some reason you have a fresh air intake attached to your indoor unit. 95% of residential units do not require fresh air intakes, that’s mostly just for commercial heating and air operation. Do recommend that you replace your filter weekly until this passes. If you have any questions or need assistance, please give us a call.

Furnace Friday

During freezing temperatures outside, the water lines in a home without a heating system will freeze in approximately three days if they’re sealed (turned off and unused)

The water in your pipes will freeze when its temperature falls below 32 degrees.

Keep the thermostat at a minimum of 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure pipes are properly insulated.

Furnace Friday!

Advice for proper care of your furnace :

Turn Off Power and Gas. Once a year you should take some time to perform a checkup on your natural gas furnace
Step 2: Clean Inside/Maintain Parts
Step 3: Clean/Repair Furnace Ducts
Step 4: Replace or Clean Furnace Filters
Step 5: Run/Test the Furnace.

While regular maintenance can lengthen the life of your furnace, it will not keep it running forever. Ultimately, furnace replacement is unavoidable. Be sure to replace your furnace when it is at the end of its life cycle and have your new furnace installed by a professional.

Call our office to have your furnace serviced.

FUN FACT FRIDAY!

Before air conditioning was invented, people used a variety of architectural styles to keep their homes semi-cool. One style, popular in the South, was the dogtrot house. This design featured a small cooking cabin separate from the main house but connected with an open-air corridor
