Captain Rod’s was born in our home basement in McHenry, Illinois 20 years ago. From the beginning, the business has been a family affair (with the added support of our neighbor, like family to us). “Captain” Rod Schuh started the business on his own with just one barge to work with. Today we serve over 4500 customers out of our own office/storage facility in McHenry where we’ve been for 10 years.
We have seven barges to work with, an office team still comprised of our wonderful family, and a dedicated team of 5 foremen managing anywhere from 8 to 16 crew members between busy and slow seasons. Rods daughter Brittney is now the main face of the business as she is running day to day operations. We currently service on and off the Chain of Lakes through Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Our dedication to quality service has left us with repeat customers all over Kenosha, Cook, Lake, Kane, and McHenry counties. We are currently the number 1 dealer in the country for MAX Docks & Lifts. We’ve serviced countless municipalities and done work for the McHenry River Walk, Antioch and Hawthorne Fishing Piers, and Piers for McDonald's.
