Our December donation was chosen by the company and went to a local 501c3 non profit called Unsigned Santa.
Unsigned Santa was started by 1 person many years ago, and has now morphed into what it is today: a Board of 6 friends with the goal of providing families with necessities to help brighten the holidays of area children.
This year alone, they’ve provided Christmas to (150) area children, partnering with (9) area schools in Crawford County, which is how they obtain the list of children in need. They also provided 195 pairs of boots and 95 pairs of snow pants to a local school for their students.
They partner with local businesses that help shop and wrap for each child. Once shopping is completed, all gifts are wrapped and addressed to the child, but they leave the “from” blank, allowing the Parents / Guardians to address it as they deem appropriate. Hence the name, Unsigned Santa. Of course, they do provide the children with presents from their wish list, but the main focus is to ensure that all children receive new coats, boots, shoes, shirts, pants, etc. All the necessities that children need.
