Note: Walking Dead fans please watch this before it comes on tonight. Besides its to cold to do anything else. If you're not a Walking Dead fan then you wouldn't understand so please watch at your leisure.

Take the time time to watch and listen to this video if you really want to save money, reduce your carbon footprint, rid your home of termites, spiders, mold ( yes I said MOLD ) rodents, bugs of all kinds. Most of all identify and remove potential health risk that lurks right under your feet. Do you get sick a lot and the Dr.s just can't figure out why? Do you know what bacteria, mold, and numerous little critters you can't see without a microscope live in? Dark, damp, cool, moisture filled spaces. Sounds like just about every Crawlspace I've been under in the past 25 years of HVAC work. I'm not here to scare you I promise! I'm here to inform you of a mass problem that has been in existence for many many years not only here in NC but SC, GA, FL and VA.
I also want you to know that we are here to help you. I've been sealing crawl spaces since 1996 so I've got a few under my belt you might say. It's taken till now for homeowners to start hearing about what sealed Crawlspaces are and/or what their purpose really is. If you want to save yourself some money later you need to think about it now. It's here, it's going to be a requirement before we know it and already new home buyers are looking for it. Trust me it's not a scam. Yes, there are scammers out there doing this that have no clue as to what they're doing or the correct procedures to follow and/or using improper material. They are leaving behind unbelievable messes and in some cases very hazardous situations that we end up having to come behind them to fix it properly anyway. So, my question is did you save any money in that situation? No. Pay once, do it right!
Yes it's cold outside right now as I post this and so is your Crawlspace. Where is that cold air going? Yes, in your home for you to heat it, costing you hard earned money. Seal it and you won't have to worry about that one again. Hmm? Warmer floors, that'd be nice too wouldn't it? Then seal it! Yes, I am in the HVAC business but we take it one step further into the building science end of it, which means we look not just at your HVAC equipment, we look at the house as a whole. It all works together and this video explains it pretty well.
I am very passionate about this and I admit I haven't done a great job over the years of informing people as I should and to be honest I didn't because for years no one really cared about it so I stopped talking about it. Well no more of that. My friends, customers and followers, I can show you picture after picture of Crawlspaces that we see on a daily basis and to be honest your jaw would drop if you saw what we saw. The statement that I use to all of my customers and this applies to anyone who reads this 80% yes that's 80% of the air that you breath everyday comes from your Crawlspace. How does that sound? Did I make that up? Heck no but it is a proven fact in study after study throughout the building science industry. Yummy the air that you are breathing right this very minute while you're asleep came from your Crawlspace! Doesn't sound so yummy now does it? Do you store gas cans under your home? I see it all the time, paint cans, pesticides, you name it I've seen it. These things off gas all of the time 24/7/365 and in your lungs they go. Mold 9 out 10 homes we find mold growing, rotted floor joist, insulation falling due to the weight of the moisture given up through the ground. Moisture is a killer in Crawlspaces in the Carolinas period. I could go on for days on this, no really I could because there is that much to know about Building Science. That's why we are Certified BPI Building Performance Analysts. If your dealing with someone who's not then you should be asking why they're not. Here is how I'll say it and leave it.
Pay once, do it right and I'll guarantee it for life.

What's this hole in the first picture? i discovered this in an unnamed apartment complex. This is where the dyer vent went. Where does it go? Its in-between floors. Talk about a fire waiting to happen! This should be connected to a vent that leads to outside, instead it's blowing dryer lint into the floor cavity. Now considering that dryer vents are one of the leading causes of fires in the U.S. one would think that the complex managment would be glad someone like me found this. Not! In fact they denied it and said it went to a vent connected to the outdoors on the roof. I'm still trying to find that vent that it could hook to in this picture. ( the other pictures that you see are just a couple of similar things that we see in the field that I used from the Internet )
Please fans if you or someone you know lives in an apartment complex tell them to have their dryer vent checked to ensure it is vented to the outdoors.
What about your own vent? We've cleaned a lot this year and you would be astonished at the vents that we find disconnected, full of lint that can over heat and cause a fire, improper venting materials such as the white vent piping that was used many years ago that is known to be an extrem fire hazard.
I know I preach all the time about dryer vents being cleaned out. I just want you to be informed. It's not about money, it's about safety! Take this from someone "me" whom has been through a house fire and lost everything. Mine was not caused by the dryer vent but either way it's purely out of concern for people's safety!
Call it a sales pitch if you like but please have your dryer vent checked, cleaned or replaced and yes we do all of this.
I suggest that all dryer vents be ran out with hard metal piping. Why? It's first off safer, next it's durable and you should never have to replace it again in your lifetime but it will still need to be cleaned yearly or every other year as hard pipe is more effective getting rid of more lint. Yes, the cost of hard pipe is more than flexible tubing. Like I said though you won't have to ever replace the hard piping. Flexible can only withstand so many cleanings before some damage starts to occur, its just the nature of the cleaning that can wear down the flexible piping over time.
As it gets colder outside we start to wear bigger and heavier clothing which in turn makes your dryer run longer and hotter therfore creating a bigger potential for a fire to start.
Now let's all be honest ok? How many of you have ever even seen your dryer vent? If so, does it sag or droop? This can cause massive pockets of lint to build up. What color is your vent pipe? If it's white you need to be calling us or whomever you use to handle your dryer venting to come out and change it immediately ( most HVAC companies don't offer or check the dryer vents, they tend to forget that the "V" in HVAC stands for Ventilation)
Have you ever had your dryer vent cleaned? A fact you may not know. A dirty dryer vent costs you more money to operate your dryer, how? When your dryer vents get dirty the 3 or 4" diameter pipe gets reduced by sometimes more than half especially if it sags. Your dryer then has to run longer and hotter to complete a normal drying cycle, thus increasing your operating cost each time you dry your clothes.
So, if you look at it the money you save each year just by having a clean dryer vent can more than pay for a simple dryer vent cleaning. Now if you upgrade to hard piping for your vent it can save you even more money because you will never have to replace it and it doesn't sag creating potential traps of lint. Also hard piping is smooth on the inside which allows for better airflow out and leaving behind it less lint which may mean we only have to clean it every other year.
Again my goal is for you to be safe first and foremost and for you to have one less thing to worry about in our already stress filled lives.
Go ahead give us a call and let us take that worry away. Let us help protect you from what you most of the time cant even see. We have nothing to hide in our quest for your safety. Thanks to the modern age of our cellphones we are happy to take pictures of what we see in your dyers ventilation system so you can make an educated decision on how you want us to proceed.
Of course you want to know how much this will cost you right? Honestly every dryer vent is different, some long, some short, some in need of replacement we see all different kinds so it's hard to tell you that answer until we inspect it.
If you are a member of our service club great we already include the dryer vent inspection with your membership. For those of you who are not a service club member ( ask for details ) then there is an inspection fee of $49.00 right now for our The Mebanite / Mebane customers that call or email us from now till January 1st 2015. For those of you outside of Mebane just give us a call or email and we can give you a dryer vent inspection fee over the phone or email dependent upon where you are located but don't let that scare you as its probably just a few dollars more.
Last, everything aside this is and has been a serious problem for many years. All I can do is inform you about it and its potential for harm to you, a family member or a friend. Please don't be one of those people who wait until sometimes to late.

Thanks for your Business! and Happy Holidays to you all!

Whats in your Crawlspace?
Most homeowners never go in their Crawlspaces. Why Not? Fear of what they might find and/or they can't go under it.
Would you spend time in your Crawlspace?
Is your house humid no matter where you set your thermostat?
Do you have mold in closets or other areas?
Do you think your utility bills seem to high?
Did you know most hardwood floor company's will not warranty their product if there is high humidity under the flooring?
Have you ever had termite damage in or under your home?
Do you have bad odors you can't explain?

If you answered yes to any of these then please read on or call us now!

What do we find in Crawlspaces? Darkness of course, dampness, moisture filled, mold infestations, snakes, mice, camel crickets, termite infestations, old moldy leftover construction debris, fallen insulation, wet insulation, wet moldy duct, duct leakage, fallen duct, direct holes into the house for rodents and bugs to have easy access to your home, oh did I mention black widows, and the list goes on.

Now imagine your crawlspace knowing that there is no more dampness, moisture filled, mold infestations, snakes, mice, camel crickets, termite infestations, old moldy leftover construction debris, fallen insulation, wet insulation, wet moldy duct, duct leakage, fallen duct, yes black widows, and any other thing that you may fear that is in your Crawlspace. It's now a dry (dehumidified), Clean space, no bad smells and a non scary place to go.

Now imagine LOWER COOLING and HEATING BILLS. Since the early 90s thousands of homes have been tested. The first houses tested were identical. Half of the homes were sealed the other half not. The information was tremendous. The homes that were sealed used 30% LESS ENERGY or more.

Imagine your overall health like asthma, allergies and even headaches getting better. Put your mind at ease knowing that the air you are breathing inside your home is clean.

ADD VALUE TO YOUR HOME. New buyers are more educated about home buying and are looking for homes that are well maintained. The well educated buyers know that Sealed Crawlspaces make the home more efficient and clean. They are also looking for homes that will last for years to come. When a buyer looks at a Sealed Crawlspace it gives them the feeling of cleanliness. It also lets them know that the homeowner took extra good care of the whole home.

PROVEN FACT 80% of the AIR YOU BREATH COMES FROM YOUR CRAWLSPACE. Yes it's a proven fact that air from your Crawlspace infiltrates your house. Yes, it comes in through your subfloor, your hardwood floor, your carpet and a vast amount through hidden holes that you can't see.

That's where we come in. With our experience and by being a BPI Certified Building Analyst we can look at your Crawlspace and come up with a plan to solve many common problems.

There are many things that can be solved simply and then there are those that need a lot of work. Whatever the situation we will be upfront and honest with a solution. We will take pictures as we go under the Crawlspace so that you can see exactly what we are looking at as well. After we have completed whatever the solution is we will take more pictures for you to see a major transformation and a job that is well done.

Now it's up to you to call on us to come to your home and let us do what we do best and that's give you our honest opinion on what your crawlspace condition is, what needs to be corrected and then give you an honest, upfront, no hidden fee investment price.

Mention that you read this on Facebook and you LIKED the post we will give you a FREE ULTRAVIOLET DUCT AIR TREATMENT SYSTEM with the purchase of a complete Sealed Crawlspace System from now through the end of July.
