Today we celebrate a very special milestone: the retirement of our founder, Jared Damon.

In October 1984, Jared started Damon Builders with a simple appreciation for the building trade and a commitment to quality. From the early days in Texas to moving back home to Maine and partnering with his brother, Jon, Jared has always stayed true to his roots.

Together, they grew this company into a powerhouse, but Jared’s true legacy lies in the "pivotal moment" in the mid-90s when they chose quality over quantity. He proved that success isn't just about the size of your crew—it's about the heart you put into every home and the focus you give to every detail.

While Jared is stepping back, he isn't disappearing! He’ll be staying on part-time to share his design and consulting expertise. But when he’s off the clock, you’ll find him enjoying the Florida sun, relaxing at camp, or staying busy with projects at the farmhouse.

Jon and his wife Kayla will continue the family business with the guidance from Jared for years to come.

Today is a special day at Damon Builders, it is our 40th anniversary of being in business! Yes, Beth and I started this business on October 15th, 1984. It's been a hell of a ride! We've been through ups and downs, as any small business experiences, but so far we've come out ahead.

Looking back over the last 40 years, the highlights have definitely been the relationships we have developed with employees, subcontractors, suppliers and customers. Many of the relationships have stood the test of time. It's amazing to watch our employees develop their skills, buy their first homes and raise their families.
Many of our subcontractors have become like family and we share in their triumphs and their sorrows. And our customers are the best! I take great pleasure in meeting with long term customers, many of them are repeat customers. It seems we spend a good deal of time talking about past projects, catching up on family events and then , finally discuss the new project at hand.

I want to thank all of those that have been a part of making our business a success! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
