🌞🎀 Celebrating Clean Energy in East Pennsboro Township!

We’re thrilled to announce that Solar Renewable Energy, LLC, together with East Pennsboro Township, officially cut the ribbon on their brand-new 2.47 MW solar array — located at the former landfill and public works site.

At the ceremony, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) joined us to share the many benefits this project brings to the township:

✅ Offsetting energy usage across 48 PPL electric accounts
✅ $266,000 in savings in the first year — an 83% reduction in energy costs
✅ An estimated $16.6 million in savings over the next 40 years
✅ All achieved with no out-of-pocket costs for the township

What makes this project especially unique is that it is Agri-voltaic — combining solar energy with agricultural land use, maximizing sustainability and community value.

This milestone is a true testament to what happens when innovative clean energy solutions, community leadership, and environmental stewardship come together.

We partnered with Wilsbach Distributors, Inc. to provide them with an energy-efficient solution for their distribution center in Pennsylvania. We are proud to share that they are now 100% powered by solar!

The company will acquire eight electric vehicle freight tractors to permanently replace eight existing diesel trucks.

Last week, GreenWorks Development hosted an event unveiling phase 2 of their solar array at Campus Square in Harrisburg. Solar Renewable Energy, LLC partnered with GreenWorks to develop and construct the 48 kW flat roof bi-facial array. What a great turnout and thank you to all who came, including speakers Mayor Eric Papenfuse and UPMC Pinnacle CEO Phil Guarneschelli. It was a great experience to showcase renewable energy efforts within the community and discuss the opportunity for others to take advantage of solar.

We completed an expansion of our existing solar array project with Masonic Villages of Elizabethtown! Phase 1 of the array was completed in 2011 and Phase 2 was constructed in 2018. Take a look at this ground array generating 1.97 MW of energy to be used by the residents of the campus.
