Not every stage of a remodel looks finished, but this is where the real progress happens.

Here we’re setting the rear beam, which is a major structural piece of the project. Once this is in place, the new layout can keep moving forward and the addition starts becoming part of the home instead of just an opening in the back.

And yes, the boss made it into this one too.

This ADU may be compact in size, but the vaulted ceilings, open great room, and functional layout make it feel much larger than its square footage suggests.

Some remodels stay inside the walls.
This one had to start outside them.

For this stage of the project, we added a new foundation off the front of the home and built the retaining wall needed to support the new layout. Before framing, finishes, or any of the exciting visual changes can happen, the structure has to be set up correctly.

This is the part most people never see, but it is what makes the rest of the remodel possible.
