We had an awesome time celebrating our summer interns at Golf Garage! It was a great opportunity to thank them for their hard work, positive energy, and valuable contributions to S+B James Construction this summer. We’re grateful they chose to spend their summer learning and building alongside Team Green and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next! 🏗

Our team celebrated the Fourth of July with a BBQ at the office, complete with great food, co****le, and plenty of patriotic spirit!

We also had the opportunity to recognize Josh Renz and James Lancaster as the Quarter Two winners of our Safety Recognition Program and celebrate our owner, Allen Purdy’s, birthday.

A new tiny home at Joy Community is ready to provide safe, stable housing for local seniors in need, and our team was honored to help bring it to life!

In collaboration with the 2026 Leadership Class of The Chamber of Medford & Jackson County, S+B James Construction supported this meaningful community service project at Joy Community, a long-term housing community designed specifically for seniors in need of a safe, stable place to live.

S+B James was grateful for the opportunity to contribute materials and labor for the structural components of this build. This project was especially meaningful to our team, with S+B James’ Craig Langseth serving as a member of the Chamber Leadership Class and both Craig and Kyle Peterson helping with construction.

A huge thank you to the Leadership Class, Joy Community, donors, volunteers, and community partners who made this project possible. It’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when local businesses and leaders come together to meet critical needs in Southern Oregon.

S+B James Construction partnered with and South Medford High School’s Innovation Academy “Hex 6” students on a hands-on fuel shed build for Medford Water’s new Operation Center.

Six students, led by Construction Tech teacher Taylor Helgeson, helped fabricate and assemble a customized fuel island shed to house the facility's fuel controls. Through the project, students gained real-world construction experience while developing skills in planning, fabrication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Over the course of the build, students dedicated 96 hours of in-class work and 24 hours of on-site assembly, contributing to a completed structure that will serve an important operational purpose for Medford Water.

This collaboration is a great example of how creative thinking, community partnerships, and investment in skilled trades can help inspire the next generation of builders.

We’re proud to celebrate Marc Hiatt's promotion to Project Executive at S+B James.

Marc brings more than 20 years of construction experience and a steady, solutions-focused approach to every project he leads. From preconstruction through closeout, he is known for building strong teams, managing risk, and keeping projects moving with accountability, communication, and care.

Marc’s leadership has contributed to more than $400 million in successful construction, including new University Student Housing, large-scale Hotels, major revitalization work in downtown Redding, and his current work on the Pit River Health Service Expansion & Renovation. This important project includes remodeling 8,300 square feet of existing clinic space and adding 14,000 square feet of new OSHPD-3 compliant space to help expand Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Outreach services for the Tribe and the growing community.

Marc’s experience, commitment, and leadership continue to make a meaningful impact on our teams, our partners, and the communities we serve.
