Our production is built on a zero-waste philosophy: every kernel of corn is fully utilized. We produce several co-products including distillers grains, CO2, corn oil, and high-purity alcohol.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming the Leadership Orleans class for a tour of our facility!

WNYE is proud to have four alumni in the program (Amanda Nash, Michelle Kingdollar, Chris Cappetta, and Gabe Myers) and we’re excited that Rachel Fraiser is participating in this year’s class.

Our distillers grains flow freely and smoothly when handled, transported, and stored. Maintaining good flowability is crucial in various industrial processes, such as loading, unloading, conveying, and blending, as well as during storage and handling.

Our technique to create ethanol is a zero-waste process. We utilize every part of the corn kernel we grind to produce the following co-products. These co-products include distillers grains, CO2, corn oil, and high-purity alcohol.

As part of the fermentation process, yeast consumes sugars to create alcohol and CO2. The CO2 is captured and sent to a CO2 refining plant operated by AirProducts, for compressing and purification, and ultimately sales into the beverage market.
