Happy **National Dog Day!** 🐾🔥

At Sek Designs we know a thing or two about loyalty, strength, and hard work — and no one represents those values better than our four-legged best friends. **Oyster Bay Project — Recently Completed**

It was a pleasure collaborating with **Diego Fuschetto Architecture** on the design and ex*****on of this custom dual-stringer, four-story floating staircase.

When the right team comes together, even the most complex challenges become manageable. From the earliest design stages through fabrication and installation, our teams worked seamlessly to solve every detail and keep the project moving forward.

The staircase was designed to appear as though it floats around a glass-enclosed elevator that travels from the basement through all four floors and up to the rooftop, where the home opens to a breathtaking view overlooking the Oyster Bay Sound.

We also had the pleasure of creating several other exciting custom elements throughout the home, which we’ll be sharing over the next few weeks.

A truly unique project made possible through strong collaboration, thoughtful design, and precise ex*****on.

Sometimes the simplest requests are still worth sharing.

Team SEK was asked to design and fabricate a custom swing-arm mount for this 85-inch flat-screen TV while complementing the building’s exposed concrete and industrial aesthetic.

During the normal workday, the screen sits neatly against the wall and remains visible for scheduling and company updates. When it is time for a board meeting, the custom arm allows the entire screen to swing out and face the conference table for a clear view from anywhere in the room.

A straightforward idea, custom-built to make the space work exactly the way the client needed.

On one of the most historic and meaningful days for our country, you made your grand entrance into this world.
Born on the 250th birthday of the United States of America, the very day our nation celebrates freedom, independence, and the sacrifices that built this great country.

Today marks the first day you opened your eyes and began your journey — a journey filled with endless possibilities, purpose, and love.

We are incredibly grateful to all the brave men and women, past and present, who have served and sacrificed to protect our freedoms, making moments like this possible. Today, we celebrate two incredible miracles: 250 years of America… and the birth of Jak.

May God guide your path, strengthen your spirit, and bless your life.

We were asked by Kean Development to custom fabricate two identical pieces for his-and-hers bathrooms.

When the drawings originally came over, the email stated that two other shops had already declined the work because of the way it was designed. They said it wasn’t possible, and that the specified finish was unknown and couldn’t be matched.

That’s where we came in.

We jumped right in, redesigned the means and methods, and gave the client exactly what they envisioned. The medicine cabinet trim was fabricated from solid 1” x 2” stainless steel bar, carefully built to maintain a perfect 1/8” space between the glass and the metal.

Then came the fun part: matching the finish.

We achieved the color by heat treating the stainless steel at 500 degrees. Since the medicine cabinet trim and cabinet inlays were considerably different thicknesses, the timing for each piece was completely different. Both elements had to be timed perfectly to make sure the final color matched across the entire bathroom.

This project was done for Kean Development, who has some of the best project managers we work with. Their attention to detail and trust in the process helped make a challenging custom piece come together the right way.

This is the kind of work we love: challenging details, custom problem solving, and delivering what others said couldn’t be done.

A one-off custom cable rail fabricated for the corporate office of Dubner Construction.

For this piece, we wanted to create something completely custom — using uncommon shapes, unique details, and cable fittings customized with clevises that were not necessarily intended for this type of application.

Everything was finished with a rustic blackened patina and topped off with a wood waterfall-style handrail cap, bringing together metal, cable, and warm wood in a way that feels industrial, refined, and completely original.

This rail was designed to represent the same innovative thinking and creativity that comes out of the offices at Dubner Construction every day.
