A few weeks ago, the Metropolitan Air Conditioning Contractors of New York (MACC), in partnership with the Electrical Training Center, connected with students to spotlight an exciting opportunity within the HVAC/R industry through their scholarship initiative.
MACC has established an annual Scholarship Award to support and recognize deserving students, with recipients eligible to receive up to $1,000 to further their education.
A big thank you to MACC Board Members Stu Ellert & his technician Josh of Comfort Tech Mechanical, Sean Libby of The The TurboChyll Company, and Marc Soffler of Dynaire Corporation for helping bring this opportunity directly to students. Additional thanks to Robert McLaughlin and the Electrical Training Center for developing and supporting such a meaningful program.
Opportunities like this give HVAC/R students more than financial support—they provide access to industry connections, increased visibility, and a stronger foundation as they begin building their careers. It’s a chance to gain confidence, explore real-world pathways, and step into a field with clear direction and long-term potential.
This is what impactful workforce development looks like—industry professionals coming together to create real pathways, raise awareness, and invest in future talent. As demand for skilled trades continues to rise, HVAC/R remains in a strong, stable career path with long-term growth potential.
Looking forward to seeing more students take advantage of this opportunity and explore what the industry has to offer.
