WOW! What a way to start the week off! The building we rent from Merical Investments LLC sustained some major storm damage on Sunday night. To be where we are now from where we were Sunday night took an army of people, and I'd like to thank the following. Mandy and Tessa from Shorts Place for letting us know. Casey with Johnson Home Solutions and his crew were the first to get here after being out clearing sidewalks all night and helped me clean up what we could on Monday in -4* weather. Then they helped with the rest of the cleanup throughout the week. Call them for all your siding needs. Brenda with Midwest Partnership set me up with the right people and continued to work with me all week to ensure we didn't need anything. She is just the best. If you are a local business in Guthrie or Adair County, I would suggest sponsoring Midwest Partnership. Wes with Duncan Construction from Van Meter got us the equipment we needed on day one as fast as he could and also came out and helped guide me through this with his awesome knowledge in the construction business. Allen with Connerley Construction drove all the way from Cedar Rapids to give us advice and share his awesome knowledge in the construction business. Call him if you live in the Cedar Rapids area for all your construction needs. Shannon with Region 12 Council of Governments helped us this week, making calls and checking in on us. Region 12 is the best COG in the State of Iowa! Your town or business can also sponsor Region 12. Mark with Devilbiss Construction came out and looked at our brick work. Mark has knowledge in the masonry business that is at another level, and his work is top-notch! Just look at the Bonnie and Clyde Bank in Stuart, Iowa. Larry Allsup with Allsup Tiling and Excavating reached out multiple times this week to see if we needed anything. Dave and Blake with TDL Construction let us use their dump truck for our cleanup needs. Daniel with Blanco Roofing in Fort Dodge came out Tuesday and helped me get this giant piece of rubber off our roof and came back to start repairs, not only to the roof but his crew also tore down our back wall so we could make sure it's as safe as possible. Daniel's roofing knowledge is one of a kind. The Menlo post office and staff worked with us - I'm sure this was not easy for them to make changes and not being able to use their back door for a couple of days, but they were great to work with. John with the city of Menlo was the first to show up Sunday night and help in 40-50 mph winds to clear the roadway and loaned us barricades to block off the road and sidewalks so everybody stays safe. Thank you, John! Troy with Miller Plumbing and Heating answered his phone while on vacation and made sure he got one of his crew members out here to drain our boiler so it would not freeze once its power was cut off. Thank you, Troy! I'd also like to thank Cory with Schafer Roofing out of Casey, Iowa for reaching out to us, offering his help if we need it. Thank you, Cory. If we forgot anybody, we're sorry - it's been a long week. Thank you all for helping this week; we wouldn't have been able to get this far this week without any of you.
