𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀, 𝗪𝗜, 𝗨𝗦𝗔, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 — UNISIG has introduced the GR-2 Gundrill Grinder, a new grinding and inspection system developed to improve the precision, consistency, and repeatability of in-house gundrill sharpening while providing manufacturers with greater insight into the deep hole drilling process. For many manufacturers, gundrill grinding is viewed primarily as a maintenance function. While properly sharpening a gundrill extends tool life and reduces tooling costs, it also provides valuable feedback about the drilling process itself.

At UNISIG, precision fabrication combines experienced metalworking skills with advanced manufacturing technology. We repurpose 3D design data from engineering to create 3D simulations in the fabrication department, allowing our team to validate manufacturability, develop manufacturing details, create nesting patterns, and simulate forming operations.

That technology is embedded throughout our fabrication process, including CNC fiber laser cutting, CNC forming, TIG, MIG and laser welding, and modular fixturing. Our fiber laser cuts with accuracies measured in thousandths of an inch, while advanced forming and fixturing allow high-accuracy geometries to fit together with precision.

Investing in precision goes beyond our machines.

UNISIG upgraded three rooftop air conditioning units serving our grind shop and technology center to provide improved temperature control for critical manufacturing and application development activities.

The unit placement was completed in just 90 minutes thanks to the coordination and professionalism of the local crane and service crews. Projects like this are a reminder of why we're proud to be part of the Menomonee Falls community. As we continue investing in our facility, we're fortunate to have experienced local partners who help keep those improvements moving efficiently.
