aughter, Sandra and David was on the way. Soon they moved to a slightly larger facility on 3rd and Wells St. Eventually, they hired a secretary who stayed with them for many years. David and Saundra helped at the business as they were growing up. Sandra started working there full time after she graduated from college in 1974. After awhile, they got tired of driving to downtown Milwaukee every day. They found a place to rent in an industrial park in Brown Deer and moved there in 1974. By this time they had much more inventory and needed a larger warehouse. Shortly after the move Carl Passed on. David was in college at the time. He came home to help out Audrey and Sandra for a couple of months. Then he went back to finish college and graduated in 1977, he joined the company right away. Then, in January of 1979, Brian Schumaker, Sandra's husband joined the company. Later that year, Mary Roeming, David's wife, also joined the company. Soon they knew they had to move again. They were bursting at the seams. Audrey decided to build her own building at their current site in Mequon. They moved into their new building in 1984. Audrey decided, in 1994, they needed to enlarge their warehouse. They moved into their new addition in 1995 where they are still working and growing today. Audrey passed away in November of 1997. Sandra and David became the owners of Roeming Industries and were proudly continuing the legacy of their parents. Then, sadly, in July of 2005, we lost David Roeming. He passed on July 1st and his son, Daniel got married at the end of July. After Dave's passing, Daniel decided to join our team. Then in January of 2007 Gregg, Sandy & Brian's son also joined our team. We were a very happy team and the business survived the 2008 recession. Then Daniel decided to devote all of his time to his growing real estate company and left us in December of 2016. Mary met and married a wonderful man in 2014. She decided to retire December 2017 to spend more time with her new husband. Now Sandy is the majority shareholder and Gregg is going to take over upon her retirement.
