This Labor Day week, we're recognizing the people who make the structures around us possible.

Behind every building, hangar, and facility TGE touches is a team of licensed structural engineers, drafters, and project staff who turn a stack of loads and code requirements into something that stands. Our PEs and SEs are licensed across all 50 states, but the real work is the daily kind: double-checking calculations, making site visits, and returning calls.

To our team, and to everyone in this industry doing the work that keeps people safe overhead — thank you. Happy Labor Day week.

Perched above Kootenay Lake near Kaslo, BC — "The Greenhouse" at Wing Creek is a project our team was proud to engineer.

Tamarack Grove provided the structural engineering behind this timber-framed garage: calculating the gravity and lateral load path through every wood and concrete element, joint, and fastener connection. That knee-braced post-and-beam rooftop covered deck you see in these photos isn't just a design feature — it's traditional timber construction, engineered to carry heavy snow and wind loads while staying true to the architectural vision.

From foundation to finished frame, TGE supported the design and build teams to make this structure come to life.

Isaac brings creativity, curiosity, and a hands-on mindset to every challenge. Inspired by his mom’s strength, resilience, and sacrifice, he pursued a career in design and building with a meaningful dream: to one day design a home she can truly call her own.

Outside of work, Isaac enjoys exploring the outdoors with his dog, Rocko, playing basketball and soccer, barbering, and working on vehicles. We’re excited to have his positive attitude and relationship-driven approach on the TGE team!

Big news from the mountain! 🏔️

Tamarack Grove Engineering is proud to celebrate a major milestone: the Bogus Basin Pioneer Lodge Renovation has been named a winner of the Idaho Business Review’s 2026 Top Projects Award in the Renovation category!

This project brought new life to a Treasure Valley landmark that has welcomed generations of skiers, snowboarders, families, and friends.

A huge thank you to Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area, erstad Architects, VERTICAL Construction, RedBuilt and the entire project team for the collaboration that brought Pioneer Lodge into its next chapter.

Every timber-frame project starts with the same question: how do you let a structure stand out while still carrying real load?

This lakeside retreat is a great example of what that looks like when it comes together — inviting open deck spaces, soaring great rooms, and a custom layout for all those enjoying it.

Beyond the design, spaces like this are a reminder of what heavy timber construction can deliver: a home that feels handcrafted room to room — from the kitchen and library loft to a billiards room and home theater, warm, inviting spaces designed for gathering and connection, and a stacked-stone fireplace as an anchor point for the whole layout.

🎉 Five years in the Grove!

This August, we’re celebrating Sigman, P.E., Project Engineer, on his fifth anniversary with Tamarack Grove Engineering!

Trevor’s curiosity about how things work began with K’NEX and Lincoln Logs and eventually grew into a career designing real-world structures. From helping design and construct a patio structure for a school in Belize to approaching each new project with collaboration, curiosity, and an adventurous spirit, Trevor continues to make a meaningful impact both inside and outside the office.

Thank you for five fantastic years, Trevor! We’re grateful for everything you bring to Team TGE and look forward to the next chapter. 👏
