Recently we have noticed a number of Treasure Valley residence commenting on higher power bills. Having a dirty condensor and evaporator coil will impact the performance of your air conditioner, driving operating cost up. Here is your sign....do regular maintenance and clean your equipment....

"Installer's note: 'Instructions? Just leave 'em in the evaporator coil. Future-you will thank, past-you… or curse you.'"
(The installation instructions packet was left stuffed inside the evaporative coil.)

Today, we responded to a call in Meridian where the install contractor forgot something. He forgot the install manual (probably never read it) inside the evaporative coil.

Needless to.say this can cause performance issues.

Okay guys who did it?

Not all HVAC companies are the same, you can trust Idaho Plumbing, Heating & Air to find the problem and provide solutions.

Yesterday, a HVAC company here in the Boise area went to this customers home removed the wires from the AC, taped them off and told them.they need a new AC system. Today our technician arrived, replaced the capacitor and connected the compressor. The system is running great.

Hear what our customers are saying......
Hi ! We are SO grateful and pleased with the service your technicians provided! The thermostat was not reading properly, and the smoke detector above the thermostat had sounded in the middle of the night; we were concerned and stressed that the house was in danger of burning! Your technicians thoroughly investigated the thermostat, AC unit, all of the air ducts, and even went into the attic! So impressive. In the attic, they found an exhaust pipe from a recent kitchen remodel that had disconnected and was contributing to smoke in the attic above the detector and thermostat. Also, the exposed opening in roof was allowing smoke from outside air to enter the attic. And one of the return air openings was collecting dust-all this in the area of the thermostat and smoke detector. The technicians went the extra mile to reconnect the exhaust pipe that had disconnected and cleared the return air opening. At this time, the thermostat is performing well, and the AC is more stable. We are grateful the technicians were able to check this issue in such a timely manner!

Ever wonder if all HVAC companies are the same?

Today we responded to a call in Kuna, Idaho; the customer stated, "Our AC system isn't working." We were able to dispatch a technician in about 2 hours. The outdoor condenser was not working, as the customer stated. Once we determined that the compressor had suffered a catastrophic failure, we opened the refrigerant lines and pushed the metal parts out with nitrogen. The home is only 2 years old. The installing contractor said, "if you can prove we were at fault, we will warranty it"

Tell me in the comments where you think this metal originated from.

What happens inside your air conditioner when a wire is loose?

Loose wires are a danger to the equipment and can cause a fire. When allowed to arc, excessive heat will melt everything in its path. We were able to catch this before it caused catastrophic damage.

🥔 DID YOU KNOW? Your HVAC System May Be One of Your Home’s Biggest Energy Users!

Heating and cooling can account for a huge portion of your home's energy use—especially during an Idaho summer when your AC is working overtime. ☀️❄️

The good news? You don't necessarily need a new system to start improving efficiency.

🥔 Spud's simple ways to help your HVAC system work smarter:

✅ Change your air filter regularly
✅ Keep grass, leaves & debris away from your outdoor AC unit
✅ Make sure supply and return vents aren't blocked
✅ Use your thermostat wisely
✅ Have your system professionally maintained so small problems can be caught before they become expensive repairs

And here's the big one...

🚨 If your AC is running constantly, struggling to reach the thermostat setting, blowing warm air, making strange noises, or your electric bill suddenly jumps—don't ignore it.

Your system may be telling you something.
