Now hiring!!! Construction Estimator needed for our thriving office located in Merrillville, Indiana. This individual would be responsible for generating business leads, and ensuring projects are estimated in a timely matter.
Responsibilities will include:
• Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
• Establish labor productivities for estimate.
• Understanding of the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
• Participation in internal bid reviews with construction managers and project team.
• Creating and maintaining positive contractor relations.
• Assisting in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
• Assisting in other duties as assigned such as, change orders or owner billings depending on the project(s).
• Occasional local travel may be required.
Minimum Requirements:
• Basic understanding of the construction bidding process.
• A basic understanding of how to read and understand job specs and drawings
• Ability to work in team environment.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers is a must.
• Experience with Commerical, Residential and Industrial construction preferred.
• Experience with mobilization and de-mobilization of scaffolding would be helpful.
Preferred Requirements:
• 2 years professional work experience in the construction industry.
• Prior work experience w/planning and estimating projects is
• A degree in Construction Management/Construction Science is a plus.
