Sometimes work has to pause for something more important.

This morning, when our crews arrived at the office, they could hear a kitten crying from inside the drainage system of the overpass next to our building. After locating where she was trapped, we reached out to animal control, and with the help of Cherie from the JPSO, we were able to get the assistance needed to safely rescue her.

It appears someone may have abandoned the kitten on top of the overpass, and she somehow ended up inside the bridge drainage column. Thankfully, after a careful rescue, she is now safe, warm, fed, and will be fully checked out.

We’ve named her “Stormy,” and she has already made fast friends with the shop puppies.

A big thank you to everyone involved who took the time to help save a small life today.
