The John Moody Band is the bold full-band realization of visionary musician, producer, and independent label founder John Moody. Blending dark electronic atmospheres, driving house rhythms, and raw rock energy, the project delivers high-impact, genre-defying music that explores emotional exhaustion, toxic cycles, creative sovereignty, and the drive to build parallel infrastructure beyond restrictive systems.

Moody’s journey began with his first taste of success in 1997 as part of the electronic trio Moody in Sydney. The band’s single “One Change” simultaneously topped the 3-D World Dance Chart at No. 1 and reached No. 7 on the Sydney Chart, establishing his early command of electronic and dance music and laying the foundation for a career defined by genre-blending innovation.

Moody’s unique perspective is further shaped by collaborations with industry legends and his breakout solo project JohnM Electro House Rock DJ, where he pushed electronic and house sounds infused with rock attitude. He has worked extensively with Jim Bonnefond, the acclaimed producer and engineer whose five-decade career spans over 100 albums and more than 30 gold and platinum certifications. Bonnefond’s credits include iconic work with Kool & the Gang (engineering their #1 hit “Celebration” and co-writing the BMI Song of the Year “Joanna”), Jimmy Cliff, Deodato, Savage Garden, 1927, and many others. Moody has also gained broad insight from encounters with over 250 international touring acts, including Fleetwood Mac and KISS.

Complementing this is his partnership with Wernher Pramschufer, former studio manager at Pink Floyd’s historic Britannia Row Studios in London. Wernher produced and recorded Moody’s solo EP Bleed Me Dry — a punchy four-track release of angst-ridden vocals, big dirty guitars, catchy choruses, and synth riffs in a modern mod-punk rock style. The title track confronts the raw pain of toxic relationships and emotional draining, while tracks like “Sorry,” “Time,” and the 80’s-flavored electro surprise “Grey” add layers of surprise. Wernher also helmed Grey and the forthcoming full-band album Time Out, set for release on August 9th via Moody’s own independent label, One Dollar Management (mastered by Rick O’Neil at Turtlerock Studios, Sydney).

From the chart-topping electronic success of Moody (1997), through the visceral alternative rock of Bleed Me Dry, the electronic/house/rock fusion of JohnM Electro House Rock DJ, to the darker, more cinematic sound of Dark Figures and the band’s Time Out, Moody consistently channels technical mastery with rebellious independence.
