Customising a product online can feel pretty simple. Choose your colours, add a name or graphic, see what it looks like and place your order.

But what happens after you click buy?

We’ve been looking at the technology behind customisable fashion and speaking to some of the platforms making it possible. What became clear is that creating a great customer experience is only part of the challenge. Those choices still need to move through design, product development and ultimately into something that can actually be produced.

We’ve pulled what we learned together into an article exploring where configurators fit within that process, what the technology can do and why the configurator itself isn’t the whole workflow.
