It’s what’s inside that counts. ✈️

Why do aircraft tires use dry nitrogen?

Unlike oxygen, nitrogen does not support combustion. Using dry nitrogen keeps oxygen levels low inside the tire, helping reduce the risk that gases released by overheated tire material will ignite.

It’s one of the less visible details behind aircraft wheel and tire safety and it works alongside proper inflation, inspection, and maintenance.

The wheel featured here was overhauled by B & W Aviation. Wheels and brakes are our everyday focus.
