EGSC has a highly qualified team of Professional Engineers and support staff that provides its clients with a broad range of Civil, Stormwater, Environmental, and Construction Management Engineering experience. The Company is currently preparing for an expansion of operations throughout the South Florida Miami/Tri-County area. The Company is prepared to leverage its experience and reputation to bring a higher level of engineering service to cities throughout South Florida. According to recent research, the Miami area is experience strong population growth and an increase in the number of housing starts. As the population and residential numbers continue to swell in this region, the demands placed on existing civil infrastructure will increase accordingly. Demand for new projects and repairs/upgrades to existing infrastructure create a very appealing environment for EGSC. By expanding its staff and aggressively marketing its services, the company will move quickly to grow its operations and revenue. The Heavy Engineering Construction and Construction Project Management Services industries in which EGSC Engineering Consultants operates are both poised for greater growth as the economy continues to recover from the recession. With projected industry growth rates of 1.4% and 6.5%, respectively, these two industries are expected to reap the benefits of a healthier economy. The Company intends to achieve several objectives including an expansion in the number of municipalities it serves, a general increase in the number of all government contracts, and it will seek to partner with other firms allowing it to take on larger scale projects than it has previously. With over 18 years of experience in the field, Mr. Gomez has developed extensive and valuable relationships in the tri-county region. EGSC Engineering Consultants, Inc (also referred to as “The Company”) was established in 2000 to provide engineering and consulting services for Miami-Dade, private developers, municipalities and private clients. . EGSC is a multi-disciplinary engineering, design, and consulting firm that is certified as a Community Business Enterprise (CBE), and Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) (i.e. revenues of $2 million or less), Equitable Distribution Program (EDP), Office of Supplier Diversity (OSD) and Micro Small Business Enterprise (MICRO/SBE) with local and state agencies. EGSC is also a Miami-based Small Business Enterprise (SBE) firm with a highly qualified team of Professional Engineers and support staff that provides its clients with a broad range of Civil, Stormwater, Environmental, and Construction Management Engineering experience. EGSC has worked closely with the city of Sweetwater, Florida since 2005, acting as the City Engineer and providing several different engineering services for the City. Scope of work:
• Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team, and obtaining necessary information.
• General understanding of civil engineering with a focus on water, sewer, drainage, roadways, and grading

We are hiring full time ......The scope of work includes providing construction inspection services for small diameter (less than 24-inch diameter) pipeline projects related to water and sanitary sewer systems as well as non-regional sanitary sewer pumping stations to ensure quality control standards.

Minimum Requirement(s) and Qualification(s) Required:
Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License by hire date.
High School diploma or GED.
Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to five (5) years full-time employment in paraprofessional engineering or the construction trades involving responsibility for the installation and repair of small or large diameter water and sewer pipelines and small or large sanitary sewer pumping stations, materials testing, land surveying, designing, or underground electronic location of water and sewer utilities and/or review of water and sewer projects are required.
Completion of coursework in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field may substitute for required experience on a month-for-month basis to a maximum of one (1) year.
Must be able to read, understand and interpret engineering/construction plans, drawings and technical specifications pertinent to water/sewer pipelines (small diameter) and sewage pump stations.
Must be familiar with current WASD Standards and have the ability to apply building code/other applicable testing standards and protocol (AWWA, etc.).
Must be able to communicate in clear and concise manner and shall be experienced in the use of personal computers.
Must be able to read, understand and interpret project construction schedules (both computerized and conventional) and shall be familiar with the Critical Path Method as well as scheduling programs such as Primavera and Microsoft Project.
Must be familiar with safe work site protocol and standards (OSHA).
Additional requirements include an understanding of backfill type and compaction standards, paving subgrade standards, trench specifications, types and quality of materials generally used in civil engineering and water and sewer works projects; tolerances, finishes, and other indicators of quality workmanship and materials, general terminology and mechanical drawing symbology utilized in civil engineering, testing and sampling procedures for construction materials and potable water; production of daily construction field inspection reports, punch-list processing and final inspection.
Salary: $22.00 to $25.00 /hour

Job Description
EGSC Engineering Consultants is currently seeking an exceptional candidate for a Civil Engineering Intern for our Miami, FL office with the possibility of future paid part time work.
This opportunity is available for a college student in good standing working towards a degree in Civil, Transportation or Environmental Engineering within an accredited program. The candidate will gain experience in civil and utility design, project management and roadway design under direct supervision of civil engineering professionals.

Duties And Responsibilities
• Perform basic design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to the development of conceptual engineering projects
• Perform standard computations and analysis and research assignments
• Support preparation of final design plans and special provisions
• Collect data and gather information or documents
• Perform field inspections


Job Requirements
• Current standing as a student actively enrolled in an accredited Engineering (or related) Undergraduate or Graduate Program.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
• The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with one or more CADD platforms

CIVIL ENGINEER PROJECT MANAGER AVAILABLE POSITION

EGSC Engineering Consultants, a Civil Engineering firm established in the 2000, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer/Project Manager to manage, coordinate, monitor, and inspect the progress of a variety of civil projects (water distribution, storm sewer. sanitary sewer) from plan conception through post completion.

Responsibilities:

• The work will generally encompass all aspects of civil engineering with a focus on water, sewer, drainage, roadways, and grading.
• Manage, administer and coordinate the construction of stormwater management projects to meet the organization's needs, on time and within budget.
• Inspection Services to monitor the progress of work performed by contractors; conduct site inspections to ensure high quality projects are being delivered within the established contract scope and specifications, budget, construction plans, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Assists with the preparation of plans using AutoCAD and reports for relevant project design elements under the guidance and supervision of the principal engineer.
• Performs engineering design tasks on assigned projects under supervision of the Principal engineer, including engineering drawings, engineering reports and required applications to regulatory agencies.
• Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
• Communicates task status effectively to Principal Engineer.
• Coordinates with the regulatory review agencies to resolve comments on construction documents or plans/permits to seek final approval.

Education/Experience:
• Possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (or ability to obtain in 12 months) preferred.
• 2-4 years of progressive Engineering experience preferred
• 2-4 years of construction management experience preferred.
• Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD a plus.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
