Bouki: “Malice, why do these Americans talk so much about their elections? How does that help us here in Haiti?”
Malice: “Ah, Bouki, my friend! When America sneezes, Haiti catches a cold. Their elections could mean more aid… or more problems for us.”
Bouki: “But why should we care who wins? They don’t even know we exist!”
Malice: “True, Bouki, but whoever wins will surely remember us when they need something—like a place to send ‘help’ that somehow helps them more than it helps us!”
Bouki: “So, it’s like when you trick me into doing your chores, then call it ‘helping out’?”
Malice: “Exactly, Bouki! But this time, the stakes are higher than washing dishes!”
Bouki: “Maybe we should run for office in the US. That way, we can finally get something done for Haiti!”
Malice: “Ah, Bouki! With our luck, we’d end up as their ‘aid package’!”
