The Capri Place II Topping Out was one to celebrate! It was a great day marking this exciting milestone and recognizing how far the project has come.

A big shout-out to all our Trade Partners, entire Ortega Team & Capri Place II Project Team, Owners and Design Team who have worked hard and pushed us this far. Reaching this milestone is a true team effort, and we’re grateful for everyone who has played a part.

Located at 8001 NW 27th Avenue in Miami, Capri Place II is a newly constructed mixed-use development bringing affordable and workforce housing along with retail space to the community.

As our interns’ final week wraps up, our team came together for a fun celebration honoring the completion of their 12-week internship with Ortega Construction Company.

During the program, they spent six weeks gaining experience in Preconstruction and six weeks working alongside our Operations team. We recognize that students pursuing construction management are an important part of the future of our industry, and we view this program as an opportunity to invest in individuals who align with our culture and are eager to learn, grow, and build their careers.

We are proud of their hard work, growth, and contributions throughout the summer and wish them continued success in all that comes next!

2200 Brickell has officially reached Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO)!

This major milestone marks the successful completion of an important phase for this 105-residence multifamily project in the heart of Brickell. The Temporary Certificate of Occupancy was issued by the City of Miami on July 24, 2026.

Reaching TCO is the result of tremendous collaboration, dedication and perseverance. Ortega Construction Company extends its sincere appreciation to our project team, ownership, design consultants, trade partners, inspectors, and everyone who contributed their expertise and hard work to make this achievement possible.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we reflect with gratitude on the freedoms and opportunities that allow us to live, work and contribute to the communities we call home.

Progress continues at Capri Place II, an affordable and workforce housing project located at 8001 NW 27th Avenue in Miami.

Across the site, our team continues advancing the parking garage foundation and supporting structures, moving several critical activities forward as the project progresses.

Concrete placement for the east side footing foundations has been completed, marking another important milestone in the structural foundation phase of the parking garage. Excavation also remains ongoing for additional footing areas adjacent to the main tower as the team continues preparing for the next sequence of structural work.

Crews are also progressing with waterproofing along the north retaining walls of the parking garage, supporting the long-term durability and performance of the structure.

Within the main tower area, roof decking operations continue for the building that will house key electrical and emergency infrastructure. With steady progress across the site, the project remains on track for another major upcoming milestone.

Every placement, excavation, and structural component reflects the dedication, coordination, and craftsmanship of our project team.

In response to the recent earthquake devastation affecting families throughout Venezuela, Ortega Construction Company is coming together with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) to support relief efforts and help spread the word.

Donation collections have been set up across our active job sites, where we are collecting non-perishable food items, hygiene products, baby formula, diapers, first aid supplies, and new or unused medical supplies to help provide essential support to those in need.

For those who would like to contribute financially, monetary donations may also be made online through GEM.

No donation is too small. Every contribution helps provide essential supplies, support, and hope to families facing extremely difficult circumstances.

We invite our team, trade partners, and community to join us in supporting the people of Venezuela during this difficult time.

We are excited to share that Ortega Construction Company has been selected as the General Contractor for Aurelian, a new 12-story luxury multifamily project located at 114 Calabria Avenue in Coral Gables.

Spanning approximately 1.2 acres across two corners of a residential block, Aurelian will include 160 residential units, a 238-space structured parking garage, and a full amenity package featuring a swimming pool, outdoor lounges, landscaped gardens, fitness center, private yoga studio, children’s play area, and public green space.

With Mediterranean-inspired architecture designed to complement the character of the neighborhood, this project will be a beautiful addition to the City of Coral Gables.

Capri Place II is moving full speed ahead in Miami’s West Little River/Northside area, along the NW 27th Avenue corridor.

Located at 8001 NW 27th Avenue, this 8-story mixed-use workforce housing development will bring 180 affordable housing units, including one- and two-bedroom apartments and townhomes, along with 3,040 SF of retail space, a three-level parking garage, and resident amenities including a swimming pool and spa.

With topping out approaching soon, progress on this project has moved at an incredible pace. Thank you to our dedicated team and trade partners who continue to keep Capri Place II moving forward and on track.

There is no substitute for seeing the work firsthand—walking the site, meeting the teams that make it happen, and experiencing the collaboration, hard work, and commitment that go into every project. It's one thing to learn about construction in the classroom, but it's another to see it come to life in the field.
