This adventure took us to Brookville Lake Resort. Was called in to try and fix or salvage a very bad deck and step job. Long story short, homeowner hired an unqualified contractor to build a deck/landing and steps for their lake house. When it takes less then 45 minutes to remove everything they built and all we can do is shake our heads and keep saying, that's wrong over and over. You know it is bad. Off to the lumber yard, buy supplies and get started. Didn't take a pic of what was there but it was bad. Steps were not equal, landing was floating on pier blocks, which are dangerous, joist hangers had screws which is a big no no. Just poor construction. New landing secured permanently to concrete and house. New steps which require just some basic math and a little thinking. The last 2 pictures are the end result. Safe and secure and easy to walk on. New handrails will go on at a later date. Folks, please do your homework and ask for references when hiring a contractor. There are lots of guys out here that will say they can do something, take your money and leave you very disappointed and unsafe. At Reeder Construction, we want you to be a satisfied customer but more importantly we want you to be a customer for life.

Recent completion of a fireplace redo. Customer purchases a mantel online from Chicago. We take out the old cheap mantel, throw the ugly green marble out. Then it becomes I want this mantel with this tile and hearth tile. We trust you with the decisions on the layout and so. So hearth tiled. Mantel is reassembled with a few minor tweaks to improve the look and then the wildest fireplace surround tile. I got 1 shot on the cut to get it right. Nailed it!!! Customer is very happy. Mantel was just finished painted and will add final picture later. You dream it and envision it, we will make it happen!!!!!

So when you are given the 1st pic and thats all the info and the customer leaves you to figure it out. The last 2 pics are what you finish up with. Entrance to Legacy Landing development in Springboro off SR. RT 741. Requarth Lumber supplied the beautiful cedar posts and beams and gave a little help setting the beams. Daryll Selby did all the stone work around the post. Grunder Landscaping Inc is the main contractor for the job and will do all the final landscaping work. We started in April and numerous delays, misfires with subs and just schedule timing, the project was completed Friday. Oh how we love the challenging jobs but the outcomes are worth all the blood, sore muscles and stress that we go through. On to the next challenge.

The projects we take on. This one was definitely one of the toughest. This kind of tile leaves no room for mistakes. Basically take a piece of paper and fold it in half, that's the difference in the tile fitting and coming back off the wall and resetting it. Well jobs like these are where we shine. Having great customers to work with make it even better. 150 square feet of concrete board and interlocking stacked stone tile later, this is the end result. Floating mantel and tv mounted on the wall bring it all together. Enjoy your fireplace Jeff and Marlies!!! We enjoyed the challenge

A little business update for our customers that we have serviced and taken care of over the last 20+ years. A little job description that we provided to the Dayton area for a few years has grown recently. For the last 2 years now, we have taken on servicing and replacing Kolbe Window and Door products. We are currently servicing the areas of Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana, all while maintaining the service we have provided to the Greater Dayton and Miami Valley areas. This has been a tremendous opportunity for us to get our name out there and expand our business profile. Yes it has made for a very hectic business schedule and yes we have missed phone calls from our past customers. Please know that we still offer our superior remodeling services and we hope that you will still consider us for any upcoming remodel projects you have in the future.

Labor Day weekend was spent accomplishing a big check off the kitchen remodel for the personal side of the business. Old door out. New opening framed and moved 3'. Reclaimed Kolbe Swing patio door off an installation. Then learning how to lay brick after seeing it done for years. Those tradesmen are truly worth every penny I have paid through the years. Few more bricks, some electric, insulation, drywall and trim and paint and someone will be getting the rest of her cabinets!!!
