While the work has gotten easier thanks to safety standards, innovations in equipment, and the rights and protections those who came before us fought for, construction is still one of the hardest and most dangerous jobs in America.
Hot summers.
Cold winters.
Dangerous environments.
Loud equipment.
Long days.
And tough work.
For many, many decades, these are just a few of the challenges tradesmen and women, at Stevens and across the nation, have worked through—doing whatever it takes not only to provide for their families, but to provide for their communities as well.
On the day-to-day, they’re building the hospitals that save lives, the stadiums we cheer in, the factories that produce our goods, and the roads and bridges we travel. And this weekend, as we celebrate the long holiday and the end of summer, you may find yourself celebrating right alongside them—whether they’re flipping burgers at a cookout, sitting next to you at a parade, or standing in line at a community festival.
Labor Day was created by workers like these to honor the hard work they do. So, to all the construction workers, and to all hard-working Americans, we tip our (hard) hats to you this Labor Day. ⛑🎆🇺🇸
