We cut a door in a residential basement concrete wall to connect a new addition. Since there was little fresh air, we used an electric cutting tool which is slower, but safer in this setting. We framed a temporary wall to hold the weight and installed a steel lintel which we then secured with epoxy. Some steps weren't shown due to time constraints, but you get the general idea.😁

Concrete core drilling requires a careful balance of water use when using a bit designed for wet coring. And just because the hole is small, doesn't make it easier. Each hole we drilled on this pier involved cutting through multiple layers of steel reinforcement.
