Well, today Robo Junkies are heading to Waco, TX, to compete in the UIL 6A State contest, and then they will compete in the FTC Texas State Cup.
These will be my last contests, since I am retiring at the end of this school year.
So we will have to see if they can go out with a bang!!!

Well, on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, we attended the 3rd League play for the season.
The teams are ranked as follows out of 23 active teams:
1st place 4885 Robo Junkies
6th place 9362 Samurai Robotics
14th place 4885 Omegabotz

On Feb 7th, we will have the League Championship at Midland College CHAP center.
How we end up in the ranking from that will determine what teams move on to the regional meet in Lubbock on Feb 28th.

Well the teams did okay today. Out of 22 teams, we came in 1st, 8th and 12th. So not a bad day for us.

Well, the teams are all loaded up and we're heading off to tanklogix for our contest today. We'll have to see how things turn out.

Well the teams did good yesterday at the Midland FTC League Championship.

Well today at the Midland League championship all three of our teams have made it into the semifinals. So now we'll have to wait and see what happens.

This past weekend, January 24 and 25, LHS competed in the Region I Academic Decathlon Meet. Students competed in 10 events, both subjective (Speech, Interview, and Essay) and objective (Language and Literature, Mathematics, Music, Economics, Science, Art, and Social Science). Students are divided into one of three divisions, Honors (GPA 4.0-3.8), Scholastic (GPA 3.79-3.20), and Varsity (GPA 3.19-0.0), and can have up to three students competing in each division. LHS was one of five Large Schools competing in Region 1.

Honors:
Ryan Rounds - 1st Place Interview, 3rd Place Mathematics
Tofunmi Okimi - 1st Place Social Science, 3rd Place Art - team highest score 6,864.6

Scholastic:
Baylee Raybon - 1st Place Science, 3rd Place Essay, 3rd Place Language and Literature, 3rd Place Social Science
Kolten Abernathy
Kamila Camacho

Varsity:
Alejandro Rivera - 2nd Place Interview, 3rd Place Essay
