We want to share something with our RMJ family before making any big changes.
RMJ Machine Worx has always been a small, family-run operation. What many people don't see is that Bjorn is working 80+ hours a week at his day job and then works 20+ hours a week at his RMJ job.
His day job pays the bills and requires a lot of his time and energy. Then, after work, weekends, and family time, he comes into the shop and makes rings.
We are incredibly proud of what RMJ has become. We know that the rings we make can be the difference between someone being able to rebuild an RC engine, restore a vintage engine, or finally get a long-awaited project running again.
But we've reached a point where we have to be honest with ourselves.
This pace isn't sustainable.
Bjorn needs time to rest. He needs time for his family. He needs time to simply enjoy life—and yes, he needs a little time to enjoy the hobbies and things that make him Bjorn.
We don't want to walk away from RMJ.
But we also can't continue operating exactly as we have been.
So we're taking some time to look at how RMJ can change into something that allows us to continue making the specialized rings you need without requiring Bjorn to work every available hour outside of his day job.
We may be making some changes to production schedules, lead times, order windows, and the types of work we accept.
Our goal isn't to make RMJ bigger. Our goal is to make RMJ sustainable.
We appreciate every person who has trusted us with an engine, recommended us to a friend, shared our posts, or simply followed along with what we're building.
We'll be sharing more about the next chapter soon.
Thank you for giving us the space to figure it out. ❤️
