Little excitement here today. The suite a few doors down had a gas leak of some sort, called the CFD and we got to meet the neighbors and six firefighters. Happy Friday!

It’s going to be a hot one this week! Please remember that while some HVAC systems may be able to keep up with 100° degree weather, most will not be able to. You may have your thermostat set to 72° but it will only get down to 78° during the afternoon. This is normal and to be expected with some systems. It does not mean there is anything wrong with your equipment. A few things you can do to help your system through this difficult time:

-Make sure your filters are changed regularly.
-Keep outside doors and windows closed.
-Keep all indoor doors and registers open.
-Set your thermostat lower than usual and hold at that temperature. If you have your thermostat set to go up when you leave the house, it will take a much longer time for it to get to your cooler set temperature when you get home. Just leave it at one temperature through the very hot days. (This tip is for those who value comfort over a low electric bill.)

If you need service, all HVAC companies will be swamped (we already are), so be sure to call as soon as you think you have an issue. The holiday weekend will make it even more of a challenge.

Mode 6 went down today. Looks like we snapped a leaf spring. Fortunately we had not commissioned Mode 11 yet, so we will be getting that on the road shortly and permanently retiring Mode 6. It will get towed to the shop for repairs and put up for sale in the next few weeks.

Meet the newest member of our management team, Tesla (named after the inventor, not the company). So far he thinks he is fitting in pretty well. However between shrieking at employees, obsessive micro-management and complete disregard for personal space I have a feeling HR will be getting involved before too long.
