⚡️ SMALL DECK BIG DIFFERENCE. ⚡️

Sometimes the “small jobs” are the ones that take the most creativity. 🤘😎

Big thank you to the handsome and hardworking Kerri B Fry and his beautiful bride Holly for having me back out to add some finishing touches and help continue improving the outdoor space they’ve worked hard to build and enjoy together. It’s always an honor getting called back by past clients and AZEK Exteriors this one was a little different than my usual full-scale deck builds. Kerri had already built the new catwalk and access area leading toward the swim spa, and I was asked to come in and continue the skirting system, trim work, and add a few clean finishing details to help keep the dogs where they belong. 🐶

Using AZEK Exterior products to continue the trim style I originally installed a few years back, combined with Veranda lattice to tie the entire lower section together, I was able to create a very smooth transition that looked intentional from day one.

Now… from the outside looking in, this might seem like a “quick easy project”… but let me tell you something…

Trying to create clean lines, symmetry, flow, and proper finish work behind two determined men learning deck construction on the fly definitely brought a few challenges with it. 😂

But honestly… I respect the courage and effort. Most people never even try to build something themselves anymore.

I’d almost hire them… almost. 🤣

In all seriousness though — I’m extremely proud of how this turned out. I believe we knocked this one out of the park and created something that feels complete, clean, intentional, and built to last.

That’s what Coastal Pines Construction is about.

Not just building projects…
Building spaces people are proud of coming home to.

If you’ve been dreaming about improving your home, deck, outdoor living space, or finally bringing a vision to life — even step by step — I’d love the opportunity to show you the kind of quality, creativity, craftsmanship, and detail you truly deserve.

Tried & True. ⚒️🌲🤘😎

⚡️ NEW CHAPTER. SAME STANDARDS. ⚡️

Over the last few years, Coastal Pines has built its reputation around high-detail work, professionalism, reliability, and genuinely giving a damn about the final result.

Now we’re bringing that same energy into something new…

✨ COASTAL PINES CLEANING ✨

This isn’t some rushed wipe-down service.
This is detailed, honest work from people who actually care about your home, rental property, office, or business.

With Catherine working through school and looking for something that aligns better with family life, we decided to build something together that reflects the same standards Coastal Pines was built on from day one.

Working alongside her is Kia, who brings a strong background in commercial, rental, hotel, and beach house cleaning. Together, they make a solid team focused on efficiency, reliability, and attention to detail in every space they touch.

Not all composite decks are built the same.

I made the decision to become a Certified TimberTech / AZEK installer because premium materials deserve proper installation.

Structure. Ventilation. Fastener systems. Manufacturer specifications.

When installed correctly, these systems carry some of the strongest warranties in the industry — and they’re built to perform for decades.

If you’re considering composite this Spring, make sure your builder understands the system behind the surface.

We do.

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2025 — IMPORTANT UPDATE for 2026

As we close out this year, I want to thank every customer, family, friend, follower, and supporter who has trusted Coastal Pines Construction with your homes, your stories, and your projects.

This business has grown because of your support — and I’m truly grateful.

With that said, it’s time to make some important changes to protect my time, my health, and the level of craftsmanship I bring to every single job.

Starting January 1st, 2026, all estimates and proposals will require a retainer.

No exceptions — including past clients.

This retainer covers the hours of measurements, design work, material research, layout options, and the detailed proposals I prepare for each project.
It is credited toward your final project if you choose to move forward.

New Tiered Retainer System:

🔹 $300 — Small projects
🔹 $500 — Medium projects (bathrooms, showers, kitchens, doors)
🔹 $750–$1,000 — Major projects (full remodels, additions, pole barns)

All 2025 estimates without a retainer will be declined.

This change wasn’t easy — but it’s necessary.
In 2026, I’m stepping forward with more boundaries, more structure, and more focus on the clients who truly want the Coastal Pines experience.

Thank you for understanding, thank you for your support, and thank you for helping me continue to build something Tried & True.

Thanksgiving hits differently for everyone.

Some families are gathering around a warm table today, taking a breath from the grind and soaking in the people they love. Others are carrying the weight of history — honoring Native ancestors, their strength, their stories, and the truth behind this day that often goes unsaid.

Both realities deserve space. Both deserve respect.

And through all of it, one thing stands solid:
Gratitude.
Gratitude for the people who show up, who keep moving, who rebuild, who fight through hard seasons, and who still find a way to make a home feel like home.

To our customers and our community — thank you.
Thank you for supporting a small business built on long days, honest hands, and the get-it-done attitude that Coastal Pines stands on.
Thank you for trusting us with your homes, your ideas, your families’ comfort, and the work that really matters.

No matter what today means for you — celebration, reflection, healing, or just catching your breath — we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re right here building alongside you.

From my family to yours,
Wishing you strength, gratitude, and a moment of peace today.
Tried & True 🤘😎

With gratitude,

Justin Harding

Some jobs test your skills.
Some jobs test your patience.
But every once in a while — once in a lifetime, maybe — a job tests your heart, your loyalty, and your ability to show up for someone the way they once showed up for you.

This renovation wasn’t just a project.
It was an honor.
A responsibility.
A chance to give back to a man who has carried more people than anyone will ever know.

He’s asked to remain completely anonymous — and I’ll guard that with everything I’ve got.
But hear me when I say this:

He is one of the greatest men I have ever known.

The kind of man whose presence settles a room.
Whose words hit different because they come from experience, not ego.
Whose heart has sheltered more broken, lost, or hurting people than he’ll ever admit.

He’s been a mentor, a compass, a brother in every sense of the word except blood.
He’s walked men through storms that would’ve drowned them left alone.
Held space for people who had nowhere else to go.
Offered truth without judgment, guidance without pride, and support without ever expecting anything in return.

And then life — cruel, unpredictable, unforgiving life — turned on him.

He found himself in a battle that no good man deserves, especially not one who’s spent his entire life helping others fight theirs.
And in that fight… he learned what many of us do when hardship comes:

Some people disappear.
Some look away.
Some only show up when it’s easy or convenient.

But he kept fighting anyway.
Quietly.
Bravely.
With a strength that doesn’t come from muscle, but from soul.

So when he asked me — not as a contractor, but as a friend — to build him a space where he could breathe…
where he could escape the weight of what he’s facing…
where he could find even a moment of the peace he’s earned a hundred times over…

I took that request like a sacred task.

We tore everything out down to the bones.
Rebuilt the floor system, reinforced the walls, waterproofed every inch with Schluter so it would be strong enough, safe enough, steady enough for the journey he’s on.
This 100 sq ft bathroom & walk-in shower wasn’t just designed for accessibility — it was designed for dignity, for comfort, for the days when moving isn’t easy, and the days when he needs a space that doesn’t ask anything of him.

Custom glass for wide access.
A layout for wheelchair navigation.
A design inspired by mountains, and vast canyons — his place of peace, his mental refuge, his reminder that even the tallest peaks can be climbed one step at a time.

But the truth is…
this wasn’t about tile.
Or waterproofing.
Or craftsmanship.

This was about honoring a man who deserves more honor than the world ever gave him back.

A man I’m proud to call a brother.
A man whose guidance helped shaped the man I am today.
A man I know — and I’m not afraid to admit it — I will have to say goodbye to one day before either of us are ready.

This bathroom… this project…
was my way of saying what men don’t always say out loud:

Thank you.
I see you.
I’m here for you.
And you are not alone — not now, not ever.
Thank you for this honor.

The homeowner is very creative and he has put so much more into this bathroom and this home since our work was completed.
Hopefully I’ll have the chance to go back and see how much more was added. As he had a vision for this space and he isnt one to quit. No Matter What!

If you or someone you love needs a space built around healing, accessibility, and heart — I’d be honored to help.

Huge thank you to the Sadler family for bringing Coastal Pines Construction back into the mix for another meaningful upgrade.

The Sadlers have been putting in some serious work on this rental property — most of it with their own hands, just like they’ve done on every property before this one. So when they called and asked if I could help elevate the kitchen and dining space before opening the home to the public, I took that ask seriously.

To bring an open-concept flow into this older home, we removed two dividing walls:
• one separating the kitchen and dining room
• widening the opening between the dining room and the living room

That change alone transformed the entire atmosphere — creating a brighter, more spacious layout perfect for hosting, gathering, and actually living in the space, without too muny structual changes.

When the new cabinets arrived, the Sadlers asked if we’d install those as well. And honestly, it was our pleasure to bring that final layer of craftsmanship to the heart of the home.

After seeing the quality of the work, they asked us to step outside and update the back deck next — removing rotted post and decking- making sure it’s not just safe and secure, but ready for the right family to enjoy for years to come.
With the hustle in the atmosphere, Mr. Sadler even jumped in and installed all the balusters himself.
Always grateful for clients who trust us with their vision and let us help bring it to life.

If you’re looking to open up your space, renovate a rental, or rework a part of your home to create a better flow — let’s talk about what Coastal Pines Construction can do for you.

Excited to share the next project on deck for Coastal Pines Construction.

I got the call from the Jenkins family last week — a hardworking family opening their home to their parents during a tough season. With more loved ones under one roof, they finally had the perfect reason to give this 100-year-old home the upgrade it’s been waiting for… and they knew I was the guy to make it happen.

They came to me with a budget and three meaningful asks:

1️⃣ More counter space so everyone can actually get ready without bumping elbows.
2️⃣ A shower bench + handheld wand for comfort, age-in-place support, and those rare moments when Mrs. Jenkins gets more than five minutes to herself. (Plus — it’s a game-changer for cleaning.)
3️⃣ Stronger water pressure for Mr. Jenkins, who puts in long days of physical work and deserves more than a weak shower at the end of the day.

These aren’t luxury requests — they’re everyday comforts every hardworking family deserves. Life gets busy, and it’s easy to forget your own needs. Now it’s finally their turn.

We’re scheduled to break ground right after the New Year, and I’m grateful for the Jenkins family’s trust as I design a bathroom that’s functional, beautiful, and built within their budget.

Stay tuned — this 100-year-old home is about to get a bathroom ready for the next 100.
