Each burn cycle begins when the flame melts the wax surrounding the wick. The wick draws the liquid wax upward, where it becomes fuel for the flame. As the melt pool expands, heat releases fragrance molecules into the air, filling the room with scent.

Once you extinguish the candle, the wax cools and solidifies before the process begins again.

Candle manufacturers study this entire cycle, from flame height and melt-pool development to fragrance release and vessel temperature, to make sure every candle burns safely and performs beautifully from the first light to the last.

Leadership development is part of Alene's culture, and our employees help lead the way!

The Alene LEADS leadership development program began as an external initiative before moving fully in-house. Today, our dedicated LEADS Ambassadors guide employees through sessions throughout the year, helping strengthen communication, teamwork and workplace relationships across the company.

Meet LEADS Ambassador Eric Hall, Master Data Management Supervisor. For Eric, one of the most rewarding parts of the role is bringing together employees who may not normally have an opportunity to work with one another.

“LEADS allows everyone to take a step back and look at active ways to improve work relationships,” Eric says. “When people are happy and have good working relationships, it benefits employees and the business through higher productivity and better job satisfaction.”

Eric says serving as an ambassador has also made him more mindful of his own daily interactions. We’re grateful to Eric and all our LEADS Ambassadors for helping create a positive, connected workplace!
