A story we hear a lot from homeowners is that they hired a guy to do work on their house, got the deposit check, did half the work (or none) and never came back. We’ve heard this story time and time again and it’s a sad reality in the construction industry. This is exactly what happened with this stone floor. Guy came in laid half the floor and was never heard from again. This kind of behavior really chaps our buns because of the mistrust it breeds between the trades and customers. Our ethos since starting this company has always been open and honest communication and superior customer service. Remodeling your home requires a lot of trust in people you don’t necessarily know and we think the best way to build that trust is by being honest and communicative through every step of the job. This basement has a lot of issues but after mitigating the water ingress and finishing the stone floor, it’s definitely on its way. (The guy who did half the floor did happen to leave a level and a bunch of tool behind so I guess that’s cool 🤷‍♂️)

Plumb, square, level, and flush. These things are elusive in old homes. Houses settle, floors slope, and doors sag. Over the decades people come and go, putting their own quick repairs and band aids on these issues. This basement door was all of that and more. Getting doors and jambs to function properly when nothing is remotely close to plumb, level, or square is a frustrating experience all carpenters have to deal with (new construction is no exception). 😎🤙 *we did not do the slate

A little Wi******er punk scene history lesson for ya. Our new shop location in downtown Wi******er used to be the practice spot for some true rippers in the Wi******er music scene. This picture was taken around 2004ish in the upstairs portion of the building. from (w/ the dope mohawk) and .dm (back then he was know as Anarchy Dave) from the bands Remorse and Anarcoustic can be seen here chilling in the practice space of local metal legends Wi******er has always had a vibrant local scene and we are stoked to be in a building that was part of it. you think we could convince Aaron to start rocking a Mohawk again? ******er

Before, during, and after of a luxury vinyl plank floor install from last week. LVP flooring is a pretty cost effective way to transform and update your home. BEWARE not all LVP is created equal though and getting the wrong kind can be a big waste of time and money. Make sure the flooring has at least a 12-mil wear layer, make sure it’s waterproof (if not, something as small as a spilled glass of water could buckle the joints), and make sure it has a padding layer. Don’t be fooled by anyone telling you it’s DIY friendly either. Without the right tools and knowledge of the product, this stuff can turn an easy couple of days work into a absolute nightmare.

Got to work with one of the raddest dudes I know today! He’s a paint slinging, bass tickling, 9 volt battery licking, intercontinental wheel man from way back. But for real real, seeing take the risk and start his own business was a huge inspiration for me to get off my buns and go into business for myself.
