Early this spring I had the opportunity to stop back and see one of the paddock installs we completed last year.
This started as a wooded hillside on a 2-acre property - uneven, ledge throughout, and not very usable. The goal was to create a flat, well-drained paddock in the backyard without creating any drainage issues around the rest of the property.
After a full winter and regular use, it’s holding up exactly the way it was intended to.
This is what the homeowner had to say:
‘This project turned the hillside behind my house into a flat, well-drained paddock, while still maintaining excellent drainage so the cellar and rest of my property did not flood.
Four seasons later, it looks like it did the day it was finished despite three horses using it regularly.

That’s really the goal with this kind of work - not just how it looks when it’s finished, but how it performs year after year when it actually matters.
