Power generation projects tend to surface a specific sourcing headache: the fabricated structure clears one shop's capacity, but the machining tolerance it requires pushes it to a second vendor, which means two sets of handling, two shipping moves, and a dimensional control problem that lives in the gap between them.

Large weldments that need tight machined surfaces afterward are genuinely hard to manage across separate facilities. Distortion from welding affects what the machining has to clean up. If the two operations are not coordinated, the part either arrives at the machine shop outside of acceptable stock or the machining vendor has to make calls they should not be making unilaterally.
