Not all companies are the same and they definitely don’t charge the same. So don’t be afraid to get a second opinion before agreeing to repairs.

Case in point, we got a call from a competitor’s customer looking to get a second opinion on some furnace repairs she supposedly needed. Quoted $2400 to replace a gas valve and circuit board on an 11 yo furnace. That’s a down payment for a new furnace!!! Ended up being just a circuit board and less than $800 when we were all said and done. Don’t let corrupt contractors take advantage of you.

** Attention Pet Owners***
For those homeowners with pets, you know regular dusting and vacuuming helps prevent allergen and hair build up. Unfortunately not everyone realizes the impact our fur babies have on our appliances as well, including furnaces and air conditioners. If air can’t pass thru your filter, your equipment isn’t going to work. Check out the filter we pulled from a home who called us out for no heat.

Home owners with additional allergens such as pets, smoking, remodeling, larger families etc should be checking filters more often than what the filter’s manufacture recommends. Has anyone checked their filter to see what they are breathing lately?

October is National Indoor Air Quality Awareness Month. According to the American Lung Association, people take an average of 21,600 breaths per day.

Here is an example of a dirty filter that we pulled out on a furnace tune up call yesterday. This is not only terrible for your lungs but also your furnace. Do you know what is in your air??

The Family Ties Behind RJ Heating and Air Conditioning

At RJ Heating and Air Conditioning, our HVAC business is a family affair—we are three generations strong under the leadership of Julius Hopfensperger. It started with Julius’ grandfather, who owned his own HVAC business in Marinette. By the age of 10, Julius’ father, Jules, was helping out with service and installation whenever he wasn’t in school.

Jules had experience taking care of families’ home comfort needs and wanted to bring that same level of outstanding service with him when he moved to the Milwaukee area. In 1976, RJ Heating opened as a family business, and it continues to grow today.

Julius got involved in the business at the age of 15 as a summer job. He saw the way his father interacted with and enjoyed taking such great care of their customers, and wanted to be a part of it. In college, Julius earned a mathematics degree, but returned every summer to work full 40-hour weeks at RJ Heating. Jules recognized the excitement in his son and knew that this was where Julius belonged.

Julius has been at the company full-time since. He mastered the trade and learned how to keep RJ Heating customers happy from his late father. Today, Julius upholds the same high level of customer service that Jules instilled in him, and it keeps customers coming back. You won’t find innovative comfort solutions like ours anywhere else because we tailor our services to meet your needs.
